Faith Lutheran High School Octoberfest This Weekend

Faith Lutheran High School will have their annual Octoberfest on Saturday Oct. 26. The “Battle of the Vines” and “Battle of the Brew” are back. Plan your brews now.
There will be a traditional German meal of brats, kraut, green beans, noodles, bread and coffee cake served from 10:30 a.m.-noon, pick up for the meal is drive through only. Tickets are $15 each (presale only) and are available from the church office or from any student or staff members at FLHS or call (979) 242-2889.
Registration for cornhole and 42 domino tournament begins are 1:30 p.m. ($5 per person.) The brews and vine judging begins at 3 p.m. Visit the FLHS Facebook page for more information regarding the contest. Sampling of the vines/brews, to vote for the people’s choice award begins at 4 p.m.
Kids games and activities, including a bounce house, temporary tattoos, photo backdrop and hayrides will begin at 4 p.m. Costume contest will be judged at 5 p.m. and the live auction beings at 5:30 p.m.
There will be a concession stand all afternoon and evening where items like chopped BBQ on bun, loaded pulled pork nachos, hot dogs, warm pretzels with beer cheese as well as other snacks and desserts can be purchased.

Operation Christmas Child The Post Oak GEMS group is collecting items for Operation Christmas Child to pack shoeboxes and send to children in need throughout the world. They are accepting washcloths, socks, individually wrapped toothbrushes and solid stick deodorant. Girls 5th-12th grade are welcome to join in this activity on Sunday Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. There will be snacks and fellowship as they fill these shoeboxes to share essentials, as well as the love of Jesus, with children in need.
Trunk or Treat Event
A Trunk or Treat will be held on Thursday October 31 from 5-7 p.m. at the Serbin Picnic Grounds.
Wednesday Night Bible Study The Wednesday Night Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda continues their weekly study at 6:30 p.m. in the family room. This is a study on 1 and 2 Kings. There is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. If you are interested in participating, please contact Cyndy Zoch to receive a study guide. The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Friday, Nov. 22 from noon-2 p.m. This is a date change from the usual schedule, just for this month. A light lunch is served, there is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.
Sewing Circle
The Sewing Circle meets every Thursday in the old parish hall at the Holy Cross Church from 9 a.m.-noon. They average making 80-100 quilts a year and no experience is necessary to join this fun group. Everyone is welcome. Holy Cross Services
Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
Reformation will be observed on Sunday, Oct. 27.
The midweek morning Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda is Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

FLHS will be hosting the 6th Annual Private Schools of Central Texas Cross Country Meet on Friday November 1 for students in K to 8th grade. The first race begins at 1:30 p.m.
Annual visit days schedule is as follows: 7th grade students will be visiting the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 30. 8th grade students on the afternoon of Wednesday Nov. 6. This annual visit event is a great opportunity for future students to see what FLHS is all about. If you have a 7th or 8th grader and would like to bring them for a visit day, please contact the school.
FLHS will be hosting game night for 7th and 8th grade students on Friday, Nov. 8 from 6-9 p.m. at the high school. There will be lots of food, fun and fellowship.
