Faith Lutheran High School Choir Earns Excellent Rating at TAPPS Competition
Faith Lutheran High School competed at TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) Music Competition at Concordia University in Austin on Feb. 20. Five of the students, Angel Wolff, Hudson Stueber, Jay Woelfel, Elijah Kueck, and Grant Oltmann, performed the song, “Send Me Down Your Silver Trumpet” directed by Dan Schaefer. They received an excellent rating and will perform this same piece, along with other whole choir pieces and the handbell choir, at the school’s Spring Thing concert on Wednesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall of Holy Cross in Warda. Mark your calendars to plan to attend this wonderful event.

Family Fun Night
Camp Lone Star in La-Grange will have a Family Fun Night celebrating with a St. Patrick’s Day Party, on Tuesday, March 17 from 5:307:30 p.m. Friends, family and neighbors are invited to dinner, camp activities including Minute To Win It Games, and a devotional. There is no cost to attend, however you are asked to register by March 10. Spring Break Day Camp will be March 9-13, designed for campers age 5-13 years old. Lifequest will be March 20-22, for grades 6-8. Summer Camp registration, for campers age 5-18 is open. The Camp will also have a work weekend May 15-17, as they prepare to welcome over 2000 campers. Kids and adults are welcome to the work weekend, to help with some projects and enjoy a few fun camp activities. Register at www.camplonestar.org.
TWHS Annual Fish Fry
The Texas Wendish Heritage Society will host their Annual Fish Fry on Sunday, March 15 in Serbin. The meal consists of fried fish, homemade potato salad, pinto beans, coleslaw, and hushpuppies. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling (979) 366-2441 or email museum@texaswendish.org. Deadline to reserve tickets is Wednesday, March 11.
Serve Day at Tejas
Tejas Camp and Retreat Center in Warda will have their Annual Serve Day on Saturday, March 28. This is an opportunity for you to join in and help with some camp projects.
Sewing Circle
The Sewing Circle meets each Thursday from 9 a.m.noon in the old parish hall at Holy Cross in Warda. This is around the back side of the church. No experience is necessary and you do not have to be a church member to join this fun group. Contact the church office at (979) 2423333 if you have any questions.
Game Day at Holy Cross
The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Thursday, March 19 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served. There is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.
Condolences
Sympathy to Pastor David and Elizabeth Woelmer and their family. Baby Josiah Robert Woelmer was born, baptized, and passed away on Feb. 27.
Holy Cross Services
Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
