Everyone is invited to join the weekly Chapel Worship Services Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

Five new students have already enrolled for the 20242025 school year. If you are interested in receiving registration materials please contact the school at (979) 2422889 or visit their website at: www.flhstx.org.

Summer camps are back! Ages for the following camps are for grades next school year.

May 28-30 - Volleyball Grades 3-8, $25 June 10-12 - Basketball Grades K-8, $25 June 17-19 - STEM Camp Grades K-6, $50 June-24-26 - Art Camp Grades K-6, $50 July 1-2 - Archery Grades 4-8, $20 To sign up for camps and to stay informed of all the activities of FLHS join their Facebook page or visit their website at www.flhstx.org. 

Mother’s Day BBQ Chicken 

The Couples Club at Holy Cross Lutheran will have their annual chicken barbecue on Mothers Day, May 12. Chickens are $12 each and cups of sauce are $3. Pick up will be at the Holy Cross picnic grounds from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Call the church office at (979) 2423333 to place your order by Monday, May 6.

St. Paul Lutheran School 

St. Paul Lutheran School in Serbin is now accepting applications for new families who wish to enroll for the first time for the 2024-2025 school year. Contact the school at (979) 366-2218 or visit the website at www.stpaulserbinschool. org for more information.

 Bluff Creek Ranch

Bluff Creek Ranch in Warda has bike riding trails that are open every day from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. They also offer primitive camping spots. May 18-19 is the Warda Race. Weekend Getaway at Tejas 

Tejas Camp and Retreat Center will be hosting their Memorial Day Weekend Getaway May 24-27. This is an opportunity to enjoy private lodging, family activities and more. Visit www.mytejasorg to register.

Knox Memorial Scholarship 

Applications are now being accepted for The Amanda (Zoch) Knox Memorial Scholarship. This is a 4 year academic based scholarship for an incoming 9th grade student of Faith Lutheran High School beginning in the Fall of 2024. Applications are due May 1 and are available from the school or from Cyndy Zoch at cyndy.zoch@gmail.com.

The Amanda Knox Memorial Scholarship Fund is holding two spring raffles. The first is for an Ultimate Hill Country Experience for two people. Tickets for this raffle are limited and will sell for $100 each. One winner will be drawn. The second drawing will include 12 items for 12 winners. These tickets will sell for $20 each. Tickets for both raffles are on sale now, with drawings held in May and June. All monies raised will go toward a full scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman at Faith Lutheran High School. Tickets can be purchased from the Holy Cross Lutheran Church office.

FLHS Golf Tournament Faith Lutheran High School will be holding their annual golf tournament fundraiser on Friday, May 31 at Frisch Auf Country Club in La Grange. Shotgun start is at 8 a.m. with the possibility of an afternoon flight. For information on entering a four person team or to sign up as a sponsor, please call (979) 2422889 or visit www.flhstx.org. Game Day at Holy Cross The next Game Day at Holy Cross will be held Thursday, April 18 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served, there is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo, dominoes and board games are offered.

Condolences

Holy Cross Services 

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Wednesday night Bible Study at Holy Cross Lutheran is held at 6:30 p.m. This covers the book of 2nd Samuel, which discusses the reign of David. Everyone is welcome to attend and there is no cost to join. To join this group, contact Cyndy Zoch at cyndy. zoch@gmail.com.

The midweek morning Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda is Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. This covers the book “Has American Christianity Failed?” by Rev. Bryan Wolfmueller. Everyone is invited. Please call the church office at (979) 242-3333 to request a copy of the book for the low price of $9.
