Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department Responds Rollover on Hwy. 71

LLINGER News

The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a two vehicle rollover at State Hwy 71 and FM 955 at 2:49 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28. The department responded with two apparatus and several firemen.

The Ellinger VFD will drill on Wednesday night, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m.

Shared Lutheran Ministry

St. John Lutheran Church of Ellinger will be holding its annual Congregational Meeting following the 8 a.m. worship on Sunday, Jan. 8. St. Paul Lutheran in Fayetteville will also have their annual meeting on that date. St. John in Rutersville and St. John in Warrenton will have their annual meeting on Sunday, Jan. 15 following the 10 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. worship, respectively.

Monthly Sunday School will occur on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 3 p.m. at St. John’s in Rutersville. Interim Pastor Jill will lead a First Communion class for those interested on Saturday, Feb. 4 and Feb. 11 from 9-11 a.m. Location to be determined. Contact the church office if interested. Confirmation classes will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at St. Paul’s in Fayetteville from 6-7:15 p.m. This spring session will occur every Wednesday until Feb. 22.

Chamber of Commerce

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, Jan. 15 at the Ellinger Community Center. The meeting starts at 11 a.m. and brunch will be served.

Additionally, a chicken noodle soup lunch and bake sale has been scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 29.

Brethren Church

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Ellinger Sewer and Water

Ellinger Sewer and Water will meet on Monday, Jan. 9 at the fire station at 7 p.m.

LGISD

No classes will be held on Monday, Jan. 16 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr Day.
