Ellinger VFD Responds to Auto Accidents

The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department responded to a one vehicle roll over on State Hwy. 71 on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 4:39 a.m. Then on Friday evening at 9:01 p.m. the firemen were dispatched to a two vehicle collision on FM 955 near Wecheta Rd. Just a reminder, the burn ban has been put in effect again. No outdoor burning is allowed.

The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department will drill on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. at the La Grange Fire Station. Training will include electrical hazards, downed power lines, overhead power line hazards, underground power line hazards, solar energy, pole and grass fires, and electric vehicles. This first responder training session will be presented by Fayette Electric Coop.

Fayetteville Brethren Church Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Face book page.

57th Class Reunion The 1965 La Grange High School class will be having its 57th class reunion on Saturday, Oct. 1. Members and spouses will gather at the Prairie Valley Dining Hall in West Point. Registration gets underway at 11 a.m. A social hour will be from 11 a.m.- noon, and a photo session will follow at 12:15 p.m. A catered meal will be served at 12:30 p.m. The menu will consist of grilled chicken, brisket, and sausage, along with all the trimmings. A class meeting and drawing for door prizes will follow the meal. Classmates from Ellinger include Tom Kubena, Mary Vrazel, Dorothy Orsak, and Larry Bartosh. Ellinger Sewer and Water The Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station.

Ellinger C of C The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. at the Ellinger Community Center.

New Restaurant in Ellinger The Ellinger Community welcomes the Red Rooster, a new Asian eatery. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for now. They will be open seven days a week soon. They are located on St.

Hwy 71, the former Hoelscher Texaco.

Judging Contest Fayette County 4-H members participated in the Guadalupe Livestock Judging Contest in Seguin on Saturday, Sept. 24. Rheagan Karisch was High Point Junior Individual; she received first place in the sheep and goats division, fifth place Junior Cattle division, and second place Junior team.
