Ellinger Chamber Hosts Christmas in July Bingo

Christmas in July Bingo will be on Saturday, July 13 at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall. Doors open at 4 p.m., kitchen opens at 5 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. Hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos, desserts and refreshments will be for sale. Wear your best “Christmas in July” outfits for a chance to win a secret Santa prize. The chamber is located at 104 W. Colorado Sky Street in Ellinger.

Shared Lutheran Ministry Dancing Under the Stars will be on Saturday, July 20, at the Rutersville Hermann Sons Hall. This event will benefit Lutherhill Ministries and a live and silent auction will be held. There will be music and a meal.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Brethren Church 

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Central Texas Food Bank Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the junction of FM 1291 and FM 2145 on Saturday, July 20 from 10-11 a.m. Food distribution will be a drive through. Volunteers will distribute and load the preboxed food into each vehicle as the client drives through the line. Clients will need to clean out the back seats, trunks or bed of the truck.

Hermann Sons 

The 2024-2025 dance program is now open at a discounted fee for members. Starting this year, non-members can also participate. It is available to the youth ranging from age 3-17 as of Sept. 1, 2024. There are 18 schools to choose from and registration can be found at hermannsonlife. org. Members are charged $35 a month. Non-members will pay the same fee along with a $200 registration fee. The deadline is October 1 to sign up.

Kocian Celebrates Birthday Koltin Kocian recently turned 23 years old on July 6. He celebrated with family and fiancé Brooke Schobel on Sunday, July 7. Koltin and Brooke served a delicious pork butt meal that concluded with a confetti Nothing Bundt cake. All enjoyed the views of wildlife including birds and deer that were out before the storm that evening.
