Ellinger Chamber to Host Benefit for Mindy Girard

A fundraiser for Mindy Girard will be held at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall on Dec. 10 with a drive through for racks of ribs. There will also be a raffle. The fundraiser will help Mindy with medical expenses after being severely burned and in the San Antonio burn unit for 25 days. Central Texas Food Truck Central Texas Food Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the junction of FM 1291 and FM 2145 on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10-11 a.m. Food distribution will be a walk up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables as clients walk through the line making their selections. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy reusable bags, boxes, or plastic tubs. Wagons will be furnished by CTFB. The food truck is on the third Saturday of each month. The next date will be Nov.18.

Shared Lutheran Ministry Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Brethren Church

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Ellinger Chamber Bingo The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will host Bingo at the chamber hall on Saturday, Oct. 28. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. More details to follow.

The Chamber will meet in the chamber dining hall on Tuesday, Oct. 10th at 7 p.m. Members and non-members are invited to attend.

Remember this chamber hall or part of it, can be rented for your next birthday party, family reunion or holiday gathering. The 4H clubs are selling poinsettias. Contact any member of the 4H to order a red, white or pink poinsettias (6 inch) which are $12 each. The delivery is tentatively set for Nov. 30. This is a county fundraiser as well as for the child’s club.

Hermann Sons Life

Play bingo for a chance to win a designer purse while helping raise funds for the Hermann Sons Life Grief Support Camp exclusively designed for children who are grieving a loss of a loved one. The home office will host this event on Saturday, Oct. 21 starting at 11 a.m. The home office is located at 515 South St. Mary’s Street in San Antonio. This event is open to members and non-members. Tickets are $50 and include one bingo book, lunch and two drinks. Extra bingo books and daubers can be purchased. The camp that this event benefits will be a half week session at the Comfort, Texas Hermann Sons camp for ages 8-17. The goal is to provide a free camp session, which normally costs about $550.
