Eleventh Night Concert Jan. 7 in Fayetteville
The Eleventh Night Concert will be held on Jan. 7 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 N. Rusk, Fayetteville. Advent and Christmas music by Colorado River Conference congregations will be presented.
Light refreshments will be served. The offering goes to the Turtle Wing Foundation. It is sponsored by Shared Lutheran Ministry.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion, observing the First Sunday of Christmas, is at 6 p.m.
Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 10 a.m.
The Noisy Offering is being accepted through December.

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department hopes everyone has a safe New Year.

Carmine 42 Club
The Carmine 42 Club and the 80 Domino Group combined for a Christmas party at Windmill Ranch Lodge in Carmine on Dec. 6.
A delicious potluck lunch was served with mimosas, iced tea, and coffee. The homemade desserts were scrumptious.
After conversations and tours, the whole group drew numbers for a Christmas ornament exchange.
Then the domino games began with the 80 Domino Group having a wonderful time. These players were Treva Whitehead, Bonnie Rudloff, Barbara Meiners, and Carolyn Meischen.
The 42 Club played eight games. The highest scoring partners were LaVerne Albers and Linda Mattocks who played four games of 84 and one game of 126. The next high scoring partners were Jeanette Schoenst and Avalda Pohl, who played two games of 84. Other partners were Betty Porter and Marlene Waak and also Myrt Meinkowsky and Donna Mueller.
RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine ISD is out of school for the Christmas holidays. Classes resume on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024.
Jan. 4 is a teacher work day and Jan. 5 is a professional development day.
Rebekah Group of MLLC The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met Dec. 14 at noon. Present were Susan Ray, Sharon Rhome, Carol Carmean, Diana Wunderlich, Jennifer Tinker, Pastor David Tinker, Dianna Gerland, Joann Ullrich, Sedalia Ullrich, Joys Baird and Nancy Eilers The meal was held first with chicken fried pork steak and side dishes.
For the Bible study, Susan Ray gave an Advent devotional and Nancy Eilers played various Christmas selections on the piano.
The business meeting was called to order by President Susan Ray.
Thank you notes were received from the Rainbow Room and Hospice Brazos Valley for the $500 gifts sent to each. Betty Porter sent a word of thanks for the birthday card she received.
Diana Wunderlich reported for Mission Action that 126 pounds of food was taken to the AMEN food pantry in La Grange by Brick Peele.
Sedalia Ullrich reported for Mission Community that she and Joys Baird took poinsettias, butter cookies, and Kleenex boxes to LaVerne Kunkel at Bec’s Blessing in Giddings and Gladys Roemer at Argent Court in Brenham.
The group signed a Christmas card for Jenell Jaster who resides in Round Rock.
Joys Baird reported for Mission Growth that the theme for the WELCA Salad Supper in June will be “Give Me That Old-Time Religion.”
Baird gave the offering meditation based on the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Birthday celebrants for December are Jocie Braun and Joys Baird.
The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.

The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m.
There is only an unmanned trailer in Ledbetter behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Accepted are clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic (please separate them and take note that No. 5 plastics are not accepted), dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload in Carmine.
