Easter Egg Hunt Saturday in Carmine
News
An Easter egg hunt will be held at the Carmine City Park on Saturday, March 30 beginning promptly at 10 a.m. when the Easter Bunny arrives. Be there at 10 for the egg hunt for ages 2-10 years of age. There will be two age-designated areas. Bring your own baskets. You may also bring lawn chairs if desired.
RT-C School News
The Round Top-Carmine High School baseball team plays at Iola March 26 at 6:30 p.m. RT-C hosts Iola on March 28 at 4:30 p.m.
March 29 will be a holiday for Good Friday.
April 1 is an Easter Monday holiday.
Students will be released early on April 5.
Jr. High baseball has started with the first game having been scheduled on March 18.

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department monthly meeting is March 28 at 7 p.m.

Additions to Obituary
There are two additions to the obituary of Flora Jahnz which was recently printed in The Fayette County Record. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Jahnz and another brother, Harry Arndt.
Rebekah Group Meeting The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met on Thursday, March 14 at 2 p.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building. The ten members present were Susan Ray, Joys Baird, Sedalia Ullrich, Joann Ullrich, Carol Carmean, Diana Wunderlich, Dianna Gerland, Jennifer Tinker, Leonita Sanders, and Nancy Eilers.
Joys Baird led the Bible Study with the theme Scripture and Nature: Teachers of Faith, Rivers: Springs of life and hope.
The business meeting was called to order by Susan Ray, President.
The Purpose and Mission Statements were recited.
Action Report: Diana Wunderlich reported that the quilters had pinned together eleven quilts and some were sewn. Donations to AMEN will be taken by Leonita to La Grange.
Community Report: Sedalia Ullrich contacted Bec’s Blessing and Argent Court about parties.
Growth Report: Joys Baird announced that the Spring Gathering of the Western Cluster will be held at Waldeck on April 27 at 8:30 a.m. and MLLC ladies are invited. Ideas were presented for the salad supper on June 5 for the theme “Give Me That Old Time Religion.”
The Lenten meal donations were $65.
Under new business, Joys reported from Church Council about improvements to the sight and sound system in the facilities and also that the roof leaks in the Christian Education annex. Some parts of the floor in the Fellowship Hall need repair.
Happy Birthday was sung for March celebrants Diana Wunderlich and Barbara Jacob.
Diana Wunderlich gave the offering meditation.
The group closed with the Lord’s Prayer and sang the table prayer.
Hostesses were Leonita Sanders and Susan Ray.
MLLC News
Maundy Thursday worship service with Holy communion is at 7:30 p.m. There will be first holy communion with a presentation of Bibles to these students.
Good Friday Tenebrae service is at 7 p.m.
The Easter Vigil is Saturday with Holy Communion, beginning at 7 p.m. This is a change in time for this Saturday service only.
The Resurrection of Our Lord continues with the Easter sunrise service at the Carmine Cemetery at 6:45 a.m. Bring your own lawn chairs for seating.
At 9:30 a.m., there will be a reception in the parlor.
Easter Festival worship service with Holy communion is a 10 a.m.
An Easter egg hunt follows worship.

Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.
To sign up, come by on any Wednesday morning to fill out the paperwork. For more information, contact Marilyn Wagner at (979) 277-4134.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is in Carmine on Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.
Accepted are clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic bottles and jugs. Please separate them. Take note that Numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics are not accepted. They do not take plastic bags.
Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
The hours in Warrenton at 600 Huenefeld Ln., Round Top are 8-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and also 8 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturdays.
Hours in La Grange at 210 Svoboda Ln. are Tuesdays 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; and Saturdays 7 a.m.-1 p.m.
The trailer is also in Fayetteville on Tuesdays from 1-5:30 p.m. Trash bags are accepted at Fayetteville for a cost.
