Easter Egg Hunt, BBQ Saturday In Fayetteville

Hop on over to the annual egg hunt, barbecue and bake sale in the square on Saturday at 10 a.m. Visit with the Easter bunny, pet a pony, bounce around in the bounce house and enjoy free hot dogs. Pick up lots of sweets and drinks at the bake sale. Freewill donations gladly accepted.

You could win a new boys and girls bike by purchasing a few raffle tickets at the event for $5 a piece or three for $10. The bikes are donated by Bob and Yvonne McGowen. Raffle will take place no later than noon. Winner need not be present. 

City Council

The next City Council meeting is this Monday at 7 p.m. in the City offices. City Council meetings are held every third Monday of the month.

City offices will be closed in observance of Good Friday, April 18.

School Trip 

Fourth and fifth grade students at FISD took a trip to Washington on the Brazos. State testing begins April 14 and ends May 2. On April 18, the school will be closed.

Picking Park 

Listen to a talented group of bluegrass musicians pick and sing at Picking Park on the square on Saturday from 2 p.m. until they feel like shutting down. They get together the second Saturday of each month from January-November. 

Arts Summer Camp

ARTS Summer Camp registration is now open. Camps will take place in Fayetteville, La Grange, Schulenburg and Weimar, running Monday through Friday throughout June and July. Sessions are available from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. or 1-4 p.m. for $100 per week.

St. John the Baptist Catholic 

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church 

St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.

St. Paul Lutheran Church 

St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.

Fayetteville Brethren 

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 - 9:45 a.m.
