Easter Egg Hunt 

Hop over for a fun-filled easter egg hunt to be held by The City of Fayetteville on Saturday, March 23 at 9 a.m. on the square. Kids aged up to 12 can hunt for candy-filled eggs and enjoy a visit from the Easter Bunny. Donations are welcome and baked goodies will be available for sale. Bring a basket. Easter BBQ 

The Fayetteville/Ellinger Knights of Columbus could have your Easter meal covered. Their monthly BBQ will take place on Easter Sunday, March 31 at St. John Catholic Church. BBQ chicken is $10, ribs are $20, and sausage is $6. Early ordering is encouraged as supply is limited. You must order in advance by calling the KC Order Line at (979) 2496003. It begins at 10:30 a.m. Cash or checks accepted.

City Council 

The next meeting of the City Council is this Monday at 7 p.m. in the City offices.

Music Series 

Justice of the Peace Jamie Moreau, Precinct 2, would like to invite Fayette County residents out for an evening of community and music, in partnership with the Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series. Join Judge Moreau and her staff on Tuesday, March 26 from 5 till 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. Guests are welcome to visit the office at 109 N. Washington and walk over to enjoy musician Alex Meixner. Music begins at 6 p.m. and the event is free.

Shelby American Legion 

Members of American Legion Shelby Post 602 Milton Heintschel, John Dennis and Steve Pavilcek recently installed a bronze plaque at the military flag display on the square. A stone monument was donated by Robert Henneke of Henneke Funeral Home of Columbus. This Saturday, don’t miss their Annual Turkey Stew and Bake Sale, which begins at 2 p.m. It’s $35 per gallon. Bring your own containers. Location is 4019 FM 1457 in Shelby.

Antiques 

For the Spring Round Top Antiques Show, Antiques Off the Square will be selling their exceptional wares from March 19 until March 23 at the historic SPJST Hall at 507 East Main St. in Fayetteville next to the baseball field. Hours are from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. daily.

Church News 

St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.
