Dr. Rylee Hatfield Recognized By Gardenia Animal Shelter

Dr. Rylee Hatfield, DVM, joined the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter (GJAS) Board of Directors in 2018 and in 2019 accepted the role of President. With a change in leadership and vision at GJAS in 2020 the shelter hit the ground running and never looked back.

Together, with the community, the animal shelter has built a strong volunteer, foster and transport program. GJAS has strengthened animal care protocols to ensure a healthier pet at adoption than when they entered our care and have built partnerships with the community and with rescue organizations nationwide.

Dr. Hatfield whole heartedly believes in the mission and has worked tirelessly alongside GJAS staff and volunteers to help save 7,463 lives in five years.

Here is what Dr. Hatfield had to say about her experience with GJAS: “It has been an honor to serve on the board of Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter. Over the past six years, the Animal Shelter has grown from a place that sheltered dogs and cats to a true animal welfare organization through hard work and dedication of staff members, volunteers, and tenacious leadership. This would not be possible without the support of Fayette County citizens and is a testament to this extraordinary community.
