Crosspoint Church to Open Childcare Facility
Crosspoint Community Church of La Grange will begin offering childcare and preschool services this fall.
Crosspoint Christian Academy will be open to children ages two to five. Children must be two by Sept. 1 in order to register. Children turning three before Sept. 1 must be potty-trained. This is welcome news to many families in La Grange who lost childcare services after Remnant Academy closed earlier this year.
“Our goal is to help the community as much as we can,” said Courtney Piltz, Preschool and Nursery Minister for Crosspoint Church.
Piltz said the church had long-considered starting a childcare program.
“This has been in the works for the last few years,” she said. “It’s been on our minds for a while. People are constantly looking for childcare. We decided to go for it.”
Tuition will be $285 per month for two-year-olds and $300 per month for kids in the Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 programs. Piltz described Crosspoint Christian Academy as a “kindergarten readiness program.”
“Our curriculum will include basic academics appropriate for those age groups, but faith-based,” Piltz said.
To start, the school will be open two days a week Tuesdays and Thursdays - for two-year-olds, and three days a week - Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays - for Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 students.
Piltz said the Church hopes to expand their services in the future.
“Eventually, we hope to grow, maybe expand to five days a week and maybe start taking babies. But right now, we’re just getting started.”
Enrollment will begin in June. To sign up for the waitlist, go to https://www. crosspoin1chiirch1x.org/childcare.
