Muldoon was well represented in Las Vegas for the rodeo this year. Patti Holly’s grandson, Trevor Crainer competed in the Ote Berry Junior Steer Wrestling World Championship. Trevor stayed solid on his runs throughout the week. It was his solid runs that helped him win the Will Byler Memorial Buckle for his 4.0 run on Round 2 for the week. It was a very exciting time for the whole family, most of whom, including Patti, were there for the events.

Trevor is often in Muldoon, so if you see him out and about in the area, stop and congratulate the young man. He has worked hard for this accomplishment.

Out and About

Debra and John Schwartzenburg enjoyed having Debra’s niece and her family, Victoria and Jason Guerrero and their children Juliana and Jocelyn come out from Houston to visit and have some fun in the country. The Guerreros were joined by Lauren Schwartzenburg and Eric Prause.

Patti Holly traveled to Huntsville for her granddaughter, Taylor Holly’s graduation from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. Taylor graduated with Honors and Magna Cum Laude. She is planning on continuing her education in medicine to become a physician assistant.

Church News

The youth group at Stray Gathering Cowboy Church held their Christmas party on Wednesday night. This year’s theme was “Jammies and Jesus” and the kids and the adults that lead the group had a blast. This very active group of Christian teens enjoyed lots of fun activities and laughs with not only Santa Claus, but the Grinch, too. They played all kinds of fun Christmas games and enjoyed eating goodies. If you know a youth ages 13-18 let them know they are welcome to come on Wednesday nights to the SG2C for some good Christian fun and learning.

The SG2C are getting ready to celebrate their one year anniversary on Jan. 14. They are planning a special testimonial Sunday to honor this occasion. The community is invited to come and hear and experience the changes that this church has brought to not only the community, but to the individuals within the church. This is a great opportunity to check out the SG2C and its strong growing Christian community within those walls. Services begin with coffee and social at 9:30 a.m. and worship service at 10 a.m. each and every Sunday.

Check on Your Neighbors It is the holidays and there are a number of community members out there that are or have been sick with all kinds of yuck, from flu to sinus infections. Take time to check on your neighbors, especially the older ones to make sure everyone is ok. This is when the spirit of giving and good will needs to kick in and help out those in our own community.
