Good Friday & Easter

Easter weekend is fast approaching and The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church has been planning for their Easter time service schedule. On Good Friday, April 18 beginning at 6:30 p.m., they will be hosting a movie night. The featured movie will be “The Forge” a movie from the creators of “The War Room.” To go along with the movie, they will be serving hot dogs, chips and a little dessert to go along with the meal. Everyone is encouraged to come and begin the Easter weekend. A prayer vigil will follow the movie and set the mood for the real reason for the Easter holiday.

On Saturday, April 19 SG2C will continue the prayer vigil at the church. This is a chance to reflect on the real reason for the Easter season.

Easter Sunday will begin with an Easter Sunrise service. This is a very symbolic service reflecting on the hope Easter brings of Christ resurrection. Also there will be an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday for those of all ages who wish to hunt some eggs. Everyone is invited to attend any or all of the activities at The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church.

Out and About

Nancie Blair recently traveled to the Fort Worth area to visit with her sister, Lu Ginapp and brother-in-law Fred. They went to opening day for the Texas Ranger’s baseball. Nancie also went again the next day to see the Rangers play again with her brother Jerry Lang and sister-in-law Karla. Later they had dinner with Nancie’s niece Chrystal Riddle and birthday dinner for my niece Carolina. Nancie found time to visit quilt shops for the All-Texas shop hop adding to her fabric stash.

Ron and Pam Knotts got a chance recently to spend a long weekend with their older son and his family near Centerville. Son, Kelly Knotts, his wife Cindy Knotts, and daughter Gabby Knotts moved to East Texas several years ago, built a barndominium and have been improving their 80 acres. Ron and Kelly spent the weekend working on an outdoor kitchen, which eventually yielded hamburgers, hotdogs and steaks. Granddaughter Gabby is quite the artist and showed off some of her recent creations. This was such a fun visit; plans are already in the works for another visit.

Lane Rightmer came in from the Waco area to visit with her parents Clay and Jennifer Rightmer. While home Lane and Jennifer got a chance to spend some quality mother/ daughter time and catch up.

Weather

Muldoon has seen some nice spring temperatures, with some strong breezes and lots of pollen in the air. With all the pleasant temps the wild flowers are starting to pop out and the roadsides are becoming very colorful just in time for the Easter season.

Illness in the Area

There are some spring time illnesses going around. Sinuses, allergies and even some respiratory bugs are going around in the area. Take time to check on your neighbors and make sure they are doing OK this spring. This is a small community and we all have to pull together to make the area a better place.
