The Stray Gathering invites everyone to come join them for an evening of a movie and snacks. They will be presenting “Risen” this year. It is a movie about Christ’s resurrection told through the eyes of a nonbeliever Roman and his aide who were tasked to solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus in the weeks following the crucifixion to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.

Come join the evening of movies and snacks. Bring along your favorite finger foods, queso, chips, dips and/ or desserts and enjoy meeting new people and just sitting back and visiting. This is the second Good Friday Movie Night for SG2C and it looks to be a great gathering of good people for a good time, so make time to come out.

Sunrise Service

Easter is upon us. If you are looking for somewhere to attend a service, look no farther than The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church. They will be holding a sunrise service at 6 a.m. on Easter Sunday morning. After the early morning message they will be serving breakfast in the park pavilion. Bring along your lawn chairs and start your Easter Sunday off right.

Following the 6 a.m. sunrise service and breakfast everyone is encouraged to stick around for the 9:30 a.m. fellowship and then the 10 a.m. Easter service. Following all this will be the much anticipated Easter Egg hunt. Everyone, both young and old are invited to come out following the morning message and have some fun hunting Easter Eggs. What fun will be had on this special Easter weekend at the SG2C.

Out and About

Ron and Pam Knotts attended a birthday party recently for long time friends, Leroy and Mary Schroeder. The couple lives in the Shiloh area and Mary is related to Pam’s family. The party given by their daughter was held at the Lutheran church in Hallestville and guests were treated to a wonderful lunch of brisket and lots of great sides. It was a fun time to mix and mingle with lots of good friends and celebrate a great couple.

Pam Sheffield spent last week in Houston with her family. They were celebrating grandson Ben’s 10th birthday. They treated him to a fun hibachi meal at Shogun on his birthday. He loves the show they put on. Then a few days later, they celebrated again with the rest of the family and had a crawfish boil with shrimp, sausage and all the works. There was lots of cake and fun games to play. Then there was shopping to purchase him a new pair of basketball shoes that he wanted. It was a great family time together.

Martin and Lora Cherry and their kids Caroline and Mitchell took off for Spring Break to Kerrville and Garner State Park. They enjoyed canoeing and hiking along with lots of great family fun.

Jennifer Rightmer drove to Waco to watch her nephew Zack Zavala play baseball for Tyler Junior College against McLennan. She was able to be joined by her sister/Zack’s mom Julie Zavala and Lane Rightmer, Jennifer’s daughter. It was a cold game, but Tyler won over McLennan.

Nancie Blair, Kim Bonewald, Tricia Griste, Minnie Parker and I went on a great quilt adventure. We took on The Bluebonnet Shop Hop, The Wildflower Shop Hop and the All Texas Shop Hop all at the same time. We made 24 shops in three day, shopping from Round Rock, Georgetown, Austin, all the way up to Llano, Brady, Fredericksburg, Blanco, Wimberley, Buda and down to Bandera and San Antonio area.

We laughed and visited the entire time, meeting lots of great people along the way. We did finish both the Bluebonnet and the Wildflower Hops, but we still have lots of shops to make to fill in the All Texas Shop Hop card; there are 105 shops all over Texas on that hop. We came home with lots of treasures to make a wide expanse of projects.

Help Your Neighbors

There are a number in our community who have been suffering from colds and allergies. Be sure to check on your senior neighbors to make sure they are OK. You might need to lend them a hand and pickup some groceries or run an errand for them. Muldoon is a small community and we all have to stick together.
