The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is alive and very active this month. They are holding a Jackpot Team Roping event on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. at the arena in Bastrop. This should be a fun event they are having sponsors for the event and will offer a concession stand. If interested in finding out more about sponsoring or competing contact Michael or Natalie Crisler. This will be a fun Sunday afternoon, so mark your calendars and be sure to attend.

Fall Round Up

Fall has officially arrived and The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church have been hard at it getting ready for their major fundraiser of the year, The Fall Round Up on Saturday Oct. 26 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Grab the kids and/or the grandkids and plan a family friendly day out.

There are plans for all kinds of activities including pony rides, chances to compete in some dummy roping for buckles, play all sorts of games including some for the adults, like the cake/dessert walk. If you get hungry they are going to have the chuckwagon ready with lunch available for only $10 for adults and kids eat free.

SG2C is very excited about the heifer raffle. Grab your tickets from any SG2C member for a chance to win a beautiful young heifer calf. Cattle prices are high, so grab your chance now to get in on the fun. The raffle will be held at the end of the Fall Round Up, you need not be present to win.

They also will be holding a live auction at 1 p.m. There will be a wide variety of items to bid on and win to take home. Be sure to come and check out the final line up of items that will be going across the auction block.

Weather

Muldoon is getting very dry and the summer heat seems to be hanging on into the month of October, afternoon temps are well into the 90s. Pastures are drying out and tanks are getting on the dry side. Morning temperatures have been really nice with early mornings being in the high 50s.

Out and About

James and I enjoyed a visit from our grandson Ira James Ivy and his mom Jenny Clair on Saturday. They drove in from Austin for some time in the country. Ira enjoyed his taste of country life, especially when Grandpa gave him a ride in the tractor.
