Out and About
Kathy Chlumsky made a surprise visit to Lake Charles, Louisiana for her mom, Nelda Lamb’s birthday. Nelda was very surprised to see Kathy at her door. They did a little bit of shopping and enjoyed a nice lunch. Kathy stayed a few days in Louisiana for a few days and got also visit with her sister, Debbie David.
Frank and Kathy Chlumsky enjoyed a quiet Christmas Day in Muldoon before going to Austin the next day to celebrate Christmas with the kids and grandkids. Frank and Kathy were the best grandparents by supplying the grandkids with indoor snowballs. That was a huge hit. They enjoyed a wonderful Christmas meal and exchanged gifts.
Ron and Pam Knotts traveled to Argyle recently for an extended Christmas holiday with their younger son, Derek Knotts, and his family. Daughter-in-law Anastasia is Greek and put on quite a spread at every meal during the weekend. There were wonderful breakfast pastries, amazing fruit salads and, of course, spanikopita and moussaka. Grandson Troy, a fouryear- old expert on dinosaurs, has quite a collection of rather large creatures that help him tell wonderful stories of dinosaur adventures. Other activities during their visit included jigsaw puzzles, long walks, a few naps and lots of presents.
Dana and Darrell Kulak enjoyed having their son, daughter in law and grandson, Elton, Miko and Henry Kulak, come into Muldoon for a little bit before they all loaded up and all headed to Boling for the Kulak Christmas.
Patti Holly enjoyed a wonderful Christmas with her family that all came into Muldoon to celebrate Christmas Day. One of the best presents for Patti was to have her great granddaughter Chesney come and enjoy sharing time and opening gifts from Santa.
Hog Hunter
Muldoon hog hunter, Chris Joplin has been busy. He has been consistently catching hogs. He caught 36 over the holiday season. Every hog caught is one less to destroy pastures or to get hit on the road.
Rain
Muldoon saw over an inch of rain on Christmas Eve. This was much welcomed sight, even if it did quell some Christmas celebrations. Christmas Day turned off beautiful, sunny and crisp.
Illnesses
There are a number in our community who have been ill during the holiday season. Flu, COVID, pneumonia along with allergies and sinus infections has been reported in our area. Check on your neighbors and make sure they are ok, especially the senior members of the community. Reach out and make someone’s day by just checking to see if they need anything. A phone call doesn’t take long and you might just be able to do some good.
