    ‘Cookie Lady Ride’ Honors Yvonne McGowen

In honor of Yvonne McGowen, the McGowen family invites you to The Cookie Lady Ride to be held on Sunday, March 29 beginning at 9 a.m. Starting at the Square, the ride offers three different loop lengths: eight, 14 and 22 miles and combines them for longer rides. Helmets are required. Anyone under 18 must ride with an adult.

Yvonne tirelessly gifted our community by baking over 5,000 cookies every year for over 20 years for the Good Old Summertime Classic Bike Ride. Homemade cookies of all kinds will be served. The event is free. Free will donations are appreciated for the Fayetteville Museum and the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department.

Animal Shelter 

The City of Fayetteville has increased their annual donation to Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter. The shelter gives shots, neuters and spays the stray animals brought in from around town.

Fayetteville Lions 

Many congratulations to the Fayetteville Lions for an unforgettable season of dedication and teamwork.

Shelter Supply Drive 

Throughout the month of March, the Fayette County Texas Exes will be hosting a supply drive during the month of March to support the Gara denia E. Janssen Animal Shelter. Donations of the following items can be dropped off at Joe‘s Place, Orsak’s and Roots and Branches in the Square: bleach, window cleaner, disinfectant wipes, latex gloves, 409/Lysol disinfectant cleaner, paper towels, 35-gallon trash bags, 55-gallon heavy-duty (2 mil) trash bags, puppy pads, copy paper, Post-it notes, dry erase markers, and Sharpies.

KC BBQ 

The Fayetteville/Ellinger Knights of Columbus BBQ will take place on Easter Sunday, April 5 instead of the usual second Sunday of the month. Order chicken, sausage and ribs by calling the KC BBQ Line at (979) 249-6003. Pick up begins at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church. Cash or checks accepted.

St. Paul Lutheran 

St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.

St. John the Baptist Catholic St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.

Fayetteville Brethren 

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Celebrations
