Clean Up Day Held at Pin Oak Cemetery
Pin Oak Cemetery had their annual clean up day recently. The volunteers came out and mowed, trimmed and manicured the cemetery. Coming out to help were John Coppedge, Victoria and Jason Guerrera, Don and Mary Kirby and John and Debra Schwartzenburg.
The little group did a beautiful job preserving history. Tombstones were cleaned up and became readable again. They were set back into position and given the respect they deserved. This is a very historic cemetery with tons of the Muldoon area history laid to rest in its boundaries.
The next clean up and Pin Oak Cemetery Association will be in April. If you have any interest in history make plans to come out in the spring and help with the preservation of area history.
Out and About
John and Debra Schwartzenburg were happy to have Julia Speed, Jason and Victoria Guerrera come out to visit and catch up with.
Dana and Darrell Kulak traveled for their birthday weekend to Arlington. They enjoyed a fun filled weekend at their son and daughter in law, Elton and Miko Kulak’s home, and got the chance to play with their grandson Henry. They also got to see their daughter Cynthia Kulak, who lives in Fort Worth. On Saturday they met up with Miko’s family for Darrell’s birthday dinner at Salt Grass Steakhouse. On Sunday for Dana’s, birthday they went to the Dallas Arboretum to the pumpkin patch and enjoyed seeing Henry marvel at all the big pumpkins.
On a recent Saturday Ron and Pam Knotts had a visit from their older son and his wife, Kelly and Cindy Knotts. Kelly is a mechanical whiz and can fix anything so he was put to work on several projects that needed some attention. Ron really enjoyed working with his son again and jokes were flying back and forth between the two. The weather was great so Cindy walked around the area and took pictures of cows and donkeys and a variety of birds and insects. Lunch was chopped beef sandwiches from Joel’s, one of Kelly’s favorites. It was a great visit and plans were made for Ron and Pam to help build an outdoor kitchen soon at Kelly and Cindy’s place.
James and Joan Ivy had a busy week. They went to Austin to see their grandson, Ira James Ivy and his mom, Jenny Clair. It was nice catching up and seeing how much and quickly Ira has grown. Then on Monday, they met up with cousins, Patty and John Keaton, at the Shooting Clay Nationals in San Antonio. James rode around the course with John and his shooting partner, Russell Hanks, both from Brawley, California. Meanwhile Patty and Joan had fun running around to quilt shops and other odds and end stores.
