Classic Car Show to Benefit Round Top Family Library
Busted Oak Cellars is hosting their 1st Annual Classic Car Show. Saturday, April 13 you are invited to come out to browse several great classic cars while enjoying live music. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Round Top Family Library.
One-Square Mile Music Fest Next weekend is Round Top’s 2nd annual “One Square Mile Music Fest.” Beginning Thursday, April 18, there will be a variety of performances and great food at The Round Top Dance Hall at The Stone Cellar. Thursday is the kickoff party featuring Doug Forrest at 6 p.m., Joey McGee Band at 7 p.m., and Broken Spokes at 9 p.m. Friday, April 19 features Cactus Thief at 6:30 p.m., Annie Bosko at 8:30 p.m., and Jack Ingram at 10 p.m. Saturday’s lineup includes Diedre Thornell at Noon, Alex Lambert at 2 p.m., Teddy Thompson at 4 p.m., Joy Clark at 6:30 p.m., and Rodney Crowell at 8 p.m. The event will close-out with “Soul Sunday” featuring the McCrary Sisters at 1:30 p.m.
There are a variety of ticket packages available: Thursday only is $25, Friday only is $65, Saturday day-only, are $35, Saturday day and night are $125, and Sunday only are $35. VIP 4-day passes are $375, and General Admission 4-day passes are $200. Off to the Races!
Save the date for Gardenia E. Janssen’s annual fundraiser – “Off to the Races!” Saturday, May 4. Derby Day Brunch inspired by Due Market Hill will be full of live music, a live and silent auction, hat contest, winning horse raffle, Derby Day cocktails, Whiskey Wall, golden ticket jewelry raffle and more. Round Top Family Library
“Author! Author!” presents Babette Hale on Sunday, April 21. Come out for a launch-week discussion of ‘The Familiar Heart: An Improbably Love Story” by our own award-winning local author, Babette Fraser Hale. Published this month, the book tells the surprising “second chances” story of finding love with her partner and husband Leon Hale, renowned Texas columnist and novelist, as well as her complicated journey of grief following his death in 2021. After the presentation, guests are invited to stay for a reception to visit with Babette, purchase the book, and enjoy refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.

Round Top Rifle Hall
The Round Top Rifle Hall’s Monday Night Hamburger Socials take place the first, second, and third Mondays of each month, the Hall is open from 5:30-8 p.m. for hamburgers, “The Rooster,” hotdogs, or chilidogs, along with fries or onion rings. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the Round Top Rifle Association.
Festival Hill
Friday, April 19-Sunday, April 21 is the 22nd Annual Poetry at Round Top. This festival of readings, workshops and fellowship will include numerous different poets. For tickets and meal information visit festivalhill.org. Church News
Bethlehem Lutheran Church annual fundraiser is Sunday, May 5 at the Round Top Rifle Hall. Worship service will be at 10 a.m. under the pavilion. Meal tickets are $15 per plate and include 4 pieces of fried chicken, green beans, buttered noodles, and a pickle spear. Desserts available for a donation. Meal served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Both dine-in and to-go available. Tickets available at the church office, Round Top Mercantile, Round Top State Bank, or church members. BLC Bible Study was held Thursday, April 4. Joys Baird served as hostess. Pastor John David Nedbalek and Joys Baird contributed to the study, which was started the song “Water” by Marty Robbins, followed by “Something in the Water” by Carrie Underwood. The lesson discussed how God is the source of all that grows, breathes, lives and all that is; will sustain us, quench us, cleanse us, and give us life. The next study will be May 2.
