City-Wide Garage Sale Coming Up
Just a reminder about the City-Wide Garage Sale put on by The Greater Fayetteville Chamber from 7 a.m. till noon on Saturday, July 9. If you reside in Fayetteville and are interested in participating and being included on the map featuring all homes in the sale, please email Sandra Borne, president of the Chamber: sborne705@outlook. com. Otherwise, make plans to shop till you drop.
Volunteers are always more than welcome to help with any of the many upcoming Lickskillet activities. Planning for the historical annual event held on Oct. 15 is well underway. The Catholic Youth Ministry at St. John will be part of this year’s City-Wide Garage Sale. Proceeds from the garage sale will be used to support their Youth Ministry. Bring donations (no clothes or TVs, please) to the parish hall on July 3, from 1-3 p.m. and July 4-8, from 5-7 p.m. Make sure that all donated electronics and appliances are in working order.
Fashion Fling
Last Saturday, lots of Fayetteville ladies and their significant others rallied around a novel charity event, Fashion Fling, held by Hospice Brazos Valley at The Compound in Round Top.
Food Truck
The Central Texas Food Truck will be at the parking lot of St. John this Thursday, July 7 from 10-11 a.m. It will be drivethru distribution and will follow all CDC guidelines.
Accident
Another recent accident occurred on N. Rusk on the morning of June 16. The driver of a Ford F-350 pick up truck hauling a U-Haul was backing out of a driveway on N. Rusk. The driver stated they didn’t have a clear view of approaching traffic due to trees blocking the view. The driver of a 1996 brown Oldsmobile was traveling northwest on N. Rusk and struck the U-Haul. Both drivers are residents of Fayetteville. No citations were issued. The accident was investigated by DPS Trooper Hartnett.
