City of Schulenburg Seeks Engineering Services

The City of Schulenburg is seeking to enter an architectural/ engineering services contract with a state-registered professional for the Schulenburg Police Department as noted below. The following outlines this Proposal/Request for Qualifications.

1. Scope of Work – the engineering contract will encompass all project-related engineering/architectural/surveying services to the City of Schulenburg, including but not limited to the following:

• Preliminary and final design plans and specifications including ADA compliance;

• Preparation of the bid packet;

• Conduct all field inspections (interim and final); and

• Other special services Please specify actual tasks to be performed under each of these categories. The scope of work will include renovating the existing Schulenburg Police Department located at 607 Upton Avenue, Schulenburg, Texas, to meet the needs of the department. Interested providers are invited to contact the Chief of Police, Troy Brenek for more information related to the scope of work.

2. Statement of Qualifications – the City of Schulenburg is seeking to contract with a competent Architectural/ engineering firm, registered to practice in the State of Texas, that has had experience in the following areas.

• Municipal construction experience with renovation is preferred;

• Registered and in good standing as a professional Architect/ engineer

• Projects located in this general region of the state As such, please provide within your proposal a list of past local government clients, as well as resumes of all architects/ engineers that will or may be assigned to this project if you receive the architectural/ engineering services contract award.

Also, please provide a copy of your current certificate of insurance for professional liability.

3. Proposals received will be evaluated on experience, work performance, and capacity to perform.

Deadline for submission of proposals is Friday, September 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.

Please submit 3 copies of your proposal of services and statement of qualifications to: Tami Walker, City Administrator City of Schulenburg 535 North Main Street, Schulenburg, Texas 78956 For this Proposal/RFQ, Respondent’s qualifications will be evaluated, and the most qualified Respondent will be selected, subject to negotiation of fair and reasonable compensation. If a qualified contract cannot be negotiated with the most qualified provider negotiations will end, and the City of Schulenburg will select next most qualified and negotiate with that provider. The City of Schulenburg reserves the right to cancel the Proposal/RFP and not award the project.
