City Checking for Hotel Tax Compliance

The City is in the process of evaluating compliance with state and local Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) regulations. All properties operating as a lodging enterprise within the City of Fayetteville and Extra Territorial Jurisdiction that are not in compliance will be contacted in the coming weeks to register with the City and reconcile their accounts. This notice includes those operating under Airbnb and Vrbo. More information on the City and State HOT programs can be found on the City’s website, www.fayetteville.texas.gov, under the City Services drop down menu on the upper right side of the home page, or call City Secretary Sandee Wilkinson at (979) 378-2559.

Before the first day of classes, FISD seniors kicked off their year with the Senior Breakfast. The first week of school, 7th graders checked out plant (onion cells) and animal cells (cheek cells) under the microscope. Class Reunion
The Class of 1973 is holding the annual Fayetteville Schools Reunion on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Joe’s in the square. A meal of chicken fried steak/ grilled chicken breast, potatoes, green beans, salad and dessert will be served. The cost is $13 per plate with advance payment required by Sept. 6 to be guaranteed a meal. As always, the bar will be open to purchase drinks. The event begins at 4 p.m. with a social, meeting, dinner and music by DJ Aaron. An option is to view the Fayetteville school “Red Building” and gym from 2:30-3:45 p.m. Meet up at the school.
Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) will host a complimentary coffee and dessert bar that Saturday night at the ARTS on the square for all reunion guests from 5-9 p.m. For a donation of $10 or more to ARTS, receive a complimentary commemorative coffee mug featuring the Fayetteville Water Tower by Fayetteville ISD alum, Allyson Hoffmann, class of 2018 (while supplies last).
