The BLC Ruth Circle met Thursday, Nov. 9. Sherry Pennington led the lesson on Holy Places and our pilgrimage. “Bless Now, O God, the Journey” was the opening hymn. Julie Wantland, Patty Royal, and Jeanette Schoenst shared that pilgrimage is not only about the destination, but the journey itself. Pilgrimage is grounded in our relationship with other people. Sherry discussed All Saint’s Day and included the stories of Jesus’ procession into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, and his appearance on the road to Emmanus. These Stories help us recognize how Jesus meets us on the way. The conclusion was that pilgrimage is a way of life; courage to “come and see” and “go and tell.” Jeanette Schoenst served as hostess. The next study will be Dec. 7 at 9:30 a.m. All are invited to learn how God meets us along the way.
