Chlumskys Celebrate Grandson’s Birthday
Kathy and Frank Chlumsky traveled into Austin over the weekend to celebrate the second birthday of their grandson, Marcus Williams. The original plan had been to have the party in the park, but Mother Nature decided to bless us with a down pour that flooded the creek and lots of heavy rain and lighting. They relocated the fun and festivities to Chuck E. Cheese’s for the party. The kids had a great time along with the adult party goers. So, the party was not a total wash.
Out and About Pam Sheffield and her high school friend from Kingwood, Holly Skinner-Klee, recently drove to Burleson to visit their other high school friend best friend, Susi Jones. The three friends really enjoy getting together two or three times a year. This time, Susi invited them to her home hoping to relax and swim in her neighbor’s swimming pool. However, the weather wasn’t cooperative with drizzle and rain there every day. So, they decided to watch movies and play dominoes instead. They also ate lunch and dinner out along with daily trips to Sonic for big icy drinks. Susi’s husband, Steve, fried some fish and shrimp for them one night, which was a real treat. Lots of laughter and fun when theses three ladies gather together. Jennifer and Clay went to the Baylor football game on Saturday for a fun day of football and friends.
Hogs Hogs are back in force with the taking advantage of the softer ground. They are rooting up where ever they can get to and tearing up lots of fields. Be sure to be aware of this while driving. They are very brave crossing the roads to get to the next field to plow with their noses.
Showers There have been a few light showers over the past week. Not like the week before, but every drop counts as we try to rehydrate the land that summer parched out. Humidity has been high and mosquitoes have been coming out in force.
Wednesday evening we got by passed by what seemed to be some strong storms. We were treated to a lighting storm in the sky and a little bit of thunder in the distance.
Neighborhood Watch Be sure and keep your eyes open and be aware of what is happening in the area. With a little effort on everyone’s part we can keep crime in and around Muldoon down. Letting someone know when the neighbors know when someone or something is out place. A call can go really far to make things safe in the area. It is also great to stop by or give the neighbor a call to just check in with them. Sometimes our neighbors need a hand. Keeping in touch is what a small community is all about, unlike a big city where no one knows anything about their neighbors.
