    Chili Supper, Auction to Benefit St. Paul Lutheran School

St. Paul Lutheran Parents and Teachers in Lutheran Schools Chili Supper and Live Auction is scheduled for Sunday, March 5 at the Serbin Picnic Grounds. Silent auction will be from 4-5:30 p.m. Live Auction will be at 5:30 p.m. Chili/Hot Dogs Supper will be at 5 p.m. Tickets will be sold from Feb. 1-15. There will also be a Chili Cook-Off. Please contact Patricia Barnett at (512) 581-1154 for tickets and information.

Tickets are $7 for chili bowl, $5 for two hot dogs and $10 per “Test and Judge” Cook-Off Armband. All profits will go towards future projects and improvements for St. Paul Lutheran School & ECC.

FLHS Spring Raffle

The Faith Lutheran High School Spring Raffle tickets are now available. Prizes include: three nights stay in Port Aransas for 8, $75- Visa Gift Cards, Stoeger STR-9C 9mm, catered meal for 12, K2 cooler with ribeye roll and $100 Visa card, handcrafted wooden train and “Joy” sign, antique side table, oversized custom charcuterie board, casserole of the month for a year, dessert of the month for a year. Tickets are available from any student, staff or call (979) 242-2889. Drawing will be the week of March 6-10, during National Lutheran Schools Week. Tickets are limited.

Writers Round Up

Texas Lutheran Writers Round Up will be held at Faith Lutheran High School on Friday, Feb. 24. This year, authors include Texas District President Rev. Michael Newman, Donna Snow, Rev. Christopher Kennedy, Sarah Baughman and Ruth Meyer. You can join them at 8 a.m. for a live broadcast of KFUO Radio Show “Sharper Iron” and “The Coffee Hour,” where the authors will be interviewed. The main event begins at 10 a.m. with author presentations, followed by a meet and greet time, lunch and an afternoon Q & A session with the authors.

Rabbs Creek Wildlife Assoc.

Rabbs Creek Wildlife Association is scheduled to meet again on Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Holy Cross Picnic Grounds. Social will start at 4 p.m. meeting at 5 p.m. and a meal to follow. Please make sure all deer are measured prior to the meeting. You are welcome to bring a snack or dessert to share.

BBQ Chicken for Sale

South Lee County Volunteer Fire Department will have BBQ Chickens on Sunday, Feb. 26. Pick up is from 10 a.m.-noon at the Serbin Picnic Grounds. Chickens are $12 each, sauce is $2 and 16 oz. cups of potato salad, pinto beans and noodles are $3 each. Deadline to order is Monday, Feb. 20. Orders can be placed by calling the church office at: (979) 242-3333.

Bake Sale

The Ladies of Serbin LWML will be having a bake sale that same day at the Serbin picnic grounds. You are encouraged to come out and support the volunteer fire department and complete your lunch with a wonderful dessert which helps to support the ladies with their various activities. Donations for the bake sale are appreciated.

Troop 143 Fundraiser

Trail Life Troop 143 will hold their annual drive-thru hamburger fundraiser on Monday March 6 at the K.C. Hall in Giddings. Tickets are $10 each and include a hamburger with the fixings, chips, drink and homemade dessert. Tickets can be purchased at the Holy Cross Church Office by calling (979) 242-3333. Tickets are pre-sale only and must be purchased by Friday, Feb. 24.

Holy Cross Youth Group

The Holy Cross Youth Group is having a fundraiser to help offset the cost of their monthly activities and their summer trip to Higher Things Youth Conference in San Antonio. The group will sell to-go plate meals on Sunday, March 12 from 10 a.m.-12:30 at the Holy Cross Picnic Grounds in Warda. The meal consists of pork steak, green beans, corn and Wendish noodles. Tickets are $15 each, presale only and are available at the church office, Chevron Station in La Grange, First National Bank in Giddings and The Texas Wendish Heritage Museum. You can also reserve a plate and pay when you arrive by calling (979) 242-3333. There will also be a bake sale with homemade items (donations of desserts are gladly accepted).

Fish Fry Fundraiser

The Texas Wendish Heritage Society will hold their annual Fish Fry Fundraiser on Sunday, March 19. Drive thru is at the Serbin picnic grounds starting at 11 a.m. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased at the church office, La Grange Chevron Station, The Wendish Museum or simply reserve a plate by calling (979) 366-2441.

Wednesday Bible Study

The Wednesday Night Bible Study Group meets each week at 7 p.m. They are currently studying the book of Judges. There is no cost to join. Contact Cyndy Zoch at cyndy.zoch@gmail.com for more information.

Baptisms

Wesson Ray Hengst and Eliana Ruth Hengst were Baptized at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Sunday, Feb. 12. Parents are Priscilla Kasper and Jonathan Hengst.

Holy Cross Services

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Ash Wednesday Service will be held Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Faith Lutheran High School

FLHS firmly believes that every family desiring a Christ-centered education for their children should have the opportunity to attend FLHS. There is a Tuition Scholarship Program available and every family who applies, through TADS, will receive some assistance.

Everyone is invited to join in the weekly Chapel Worship Service every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
