Just a reminder, Muldoon does have a Lending Library in front of the fire station. There are lots of books to choose from and the selection is always changing. Borrow a book or drop one off. This is a great resource for our small community and gives us all a chance to get some interesting reading material. Stop by and check it out.

Out and About

On a recent Sunday afternoon, Ron and Pam Knotts had a visit from their nephew, Eric Langenberg, who was home from an extended tour of several European countries. Also coming out for a visit with Eric was his dad, Pam’s brother, Ray Langenberg. It has been a while since Ron and Pam had a chance to catch up on the amazing adventures Eric has been having in his travels. They also got to hear about Eric’s future plans to spend the next few months in South America. Since it had been a while since Eric was at the ranch, Ron got a chance to give everyone a tour of the outbuildings and show off his cows. It was a great visit and was really nice to reconnect with family members.

Anne Marie Cherry was in from Columbus, Georgia and spent the holiday break visiting her parents, Nancy and Martin Cherry, Sr., in Muldoon and enjoying the joy of a Central Texas Christmas. They traveled around, taking in the lights and a Christmas Eve service in San Antonio. They stopped in Wimberly and ate all the “Lucky Foods” on New Year’s Day with Nancy’s sister and brother in law. While there, she got to catch up with a lot of her cousins and their babies before heading back to Georgia to get ready to start teaching the new spring semester. It was a very busy trip that her parents thoroughly enjoyed.

Jennifer and Clay Rightmer had the fun of hosting Jennifer’s niece Georgia Howard, who got dropped off by her parents Wade and Karen Howard over the weekend. Georgia enjoyed her chance to stay out in the country and see all the animals and get spoiled by Aunt Jen. Also visiting at the Rightmer house was their son Reed. Reed came in from Houston for a short visit between breaks in school.

Nancie and Billy Blair enjoyed a weekend visit from their great nephew Jack Riddell, who arrived from Temple where he’s going to college. They put Jack to work helping with various projects around the house and property. It was a nice weekend of family fun.

Weather

Muldoon has been seeing a little rain, a little fog, strong winds, some sun and morning freezes with early morning temps dropping into the twenties. As of this writing Monday and Tuesday look like they will be very cold. Most in the area are preparing for prolong freezing at this time. Preparations going on in the area include covering pipes, getting cattle and livestock well stocked on hay and feed, and winterizing around the house.

Church News

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is gearing up for their first anniversary this month, and they have been a real asset to the community. The church has grown and their youth program for ages 13-18 years old is amazing. Here is a great place for area youth to come, hang out and get involved with a great organization. Any area youth who would like to check out the ROPE (Rely On Prayer Everyday) program are invited to come on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. for a meal followed by some fun learning and fellowship. Youth from all over the area are already involved and welcome more to come and join them.

The SG2C is also planning a Spring Round up around the 4th Saturday in March. The preliminary planning is underway with lots of great activities for both the kids and the adults being laid out. Mark your calendar for March 23 and plan on a day out with the family. More details will be coming as plans firm up.
