Mark Chapman, a long-time area entrepreneur, artist, and art collector, left a legacy of acquired art pieces from around Texas and beyond. Mark collected from individual artist as well as galleries large and small. Works from his vast collection have been offered to the public before to benefit different nonprofits, and once again his estate in Cat Spring is making available Mark’s extended collection as well as pieces that he created himself. 100% of the proceeds from sales go to benefit the Fayetteville Community Center & Performance Theater (a 501(c)(3) non-profit) being constructed on Fayetteville’s Historic Square.

Visit www.FayettevilleCommunityCenter. org for more information.

The varied and eclectic collection of over 275 pieces includes landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and old-world scenes from the 19th century, many in elaborate and exquisite frames. Mark also collected contemporary abstracts, bronze sculptures, and whimsical pieces. There are smaller pieces priced below $50 on up to larger collector pieces, with most being available below each piece’s original purchase price or appraised value. The Chapman Collection returns to the Red & White this Saturday during the town’s ArtWalk. The gallery will be open both days, May 4 and 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit and sale will continue into June on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit www.RedAndWhiteGallery. com.
