Central Texas Food Bank Truck in Waldeck July 20
The Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the junction of FM 1291 and FM 2145 on Saturday, July 20 from 10-11 a.m. The food will be distributed Drive-Thru method. Volunteers will distribute and load the pre-boxed food into each vehicle as the client drives through the line.
Clients should clean out their back seats, trunks and truck beds to make room for the boxed food.
Blood Drive Successful
The Blood Drive held on June 23, sponsored by Martin Luther Lutheran Church and Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top, was very successful.
There were nineteen donors with three deferred. Five of the donors gave double, which came to a total of twenty- one credited units.
Thanks to everyone who donated and helped with the event.
Community Dance Night
The Community Dance Night held on June 28 at the Carmine Dance Hall was enjoyed by one hundred eleven persons. Sound by Lathan provided dance music for all ages to which many danced the night away with friends and relatives. Popcorn and Chicfil- A food was served.
Carmine Fireman’s Feast
The Firemen’s Feast will be held on Sunday, July 21.
Fried chicken plates will be served drive-thru only at the Carmine Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until sold out. Desserts and sausage links will also be available. A drawing will be held the same day.
Donations will be accepted as payment for the meal.
Carmine Volunteer Fire Department drill night is on July 11 at 7 p.m.
Cedar Creek Schuetzen Verein
The Cedar Creek Schuetzen Verein will hold their annual meeting on July 14 at the Carmine Hall beginning at 11:30 a.m. A catered meal will follow. Bring a dessert.
New members are welcomed to join.
There will be a presentation by the Renovation Committee recommending plans for the downstairs part of the hall, along with other business.

Bingo for Seniors
Bingo for Seniors (age 60 and older, plus guests) will be held on Sunday, July 14 at the Ledbetter Community Center from 2-4 p.m. Cost is $5 per card, which covers 10 plus games and prizes. Chips, snacks and drinks are available for a freewill donation.
This is a nonprofit community event for entertainment.
Casino Night Magic!
Carmine Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Casino Night Magic! on Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Carmine Hall. It begins at 6 p.m.
There will be a professional magic show by R.Verotti. A chicken-fried-steak meal will be served by Gary.
Tables sponsorships are on sale for $500. Call or text (512) 983-1115 or (979) 4511507 to reserve a table, which includes eight meals, beverages, wine, promotion at event, and playing chips. Individual tickets are $65 and include playing chips.

Rebekah Group meets Thursday at 2 p.m.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion observing the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost is at 6 p.m.

Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.

Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is in Carmine on Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.
Accepted are clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic bottles and jugs. Please separate them. Numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics are not accepted. They do not take plastic bags.
Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
