Central Texas Food Bank Mobile Pantry in Waldeck Saturday

The Central Texas Food Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church this Saturday, May 17 from 10-11 a.m. The location is at the intersection of FM 1291 and FM 2145. It will be drive through for Fayette County residents only.

Carmine Cemetery 

The Carmine Cemetery Association will hold its annual Decoration Service this Sunday, May 18 at 2 p.m. at the cemetery. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Aspecial meeting has been called by the Carmine Cemetery Association to approve the revisions to the bylaws. It is scheduled for Sunday, May 25 at 11:15 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building of Martin Luther Lutheran Church.

RT-C School News 

Round Top-Carmine high school baseball team won its bi-district playoff game against Hull-Daisetta on May 1 in Kingwood. Games one and two of the area round of playoffs were to be played on May 9 at Kyle with Medina as the opponent. The third game, if needed, was to have been the next day.

Looking ahead, the last day of classes will be on May 22 with early release at 12:30 p.m.

High School graduation and eight grade promotion take place on May 23 at Round Top Festival Institute at 7 p.m.

Church Annual Picnic Waldeck Lutheran Church will sponsor their annual picnic this Sunday, May 18 with a day of fun, food, and fellowship. A chicken fried steak meal with buttered potatoes, green beans, and gravy will be served from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

There will be a country store, face painting, homemade ice cream, and cake walk. A live drawing is at 12:30 p.m.

Ledbetter Bingo 

Ledbetter bingo will be held this Sunday, May 18, since Mother’s Day was the second Sunday. Doors open at 1:15 p.m. and play is from 2-4 p.m. Cost is $5 which covers all games with prizes awarded for each game.

Chips, snacks, and drinks are available for a donation. This is a non-profit community event for entertainment.

Bingo at the Carmine Hall The next Bingo at the Carmine Hall is on Friday, May 23. Doors open at 4 p.m. and games begin at 6 p.m. Twelve regular games and two cover games are played. Food and drinks are available for purchase.

Fundraiser for Craig Cook A fundraiser is being held for Craig Cook for his major medical expenses and recovery due to cancer.

Donations may be made to the Craig Cook Medical Expense Fund at Carmine State Bank. The donations may be made in person or by mailing a check to Carmine State Bank, P.O. Box 341, Carmine, TX 78932.

The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department meets May 8 for their drill night at 6 p.m.

Senior Citizens meal pick-up and domino party is Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Worship with Holy Communion observing the Fifth Sunday of Easter is Sunday at 10 a.m.

RT-C Baccalaureate will be held at the church Sunday at 3 p.m.

Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m.

Recycle Trailers 

The recycling trailers are at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from 1-4 p.m.

Clean milk cartons should be kept separate from the other No. 2 plastics. They also accept clean No. 1 plastic bottles and jugs. Note that numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics and plastic bags are not accepted.

Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
