Celebrate Christmas in Muldoon Dec. 9

With Thanksgiving behind us, Christmas is fast approaching and Muldoon is gearing up with Christmas in Muldoon on Saturday, Dec. 9. This will be all afternoon beginning from 3:30 to after 6:30 p.m. This will be a great chance to take a drive out in the countryside and enjoy the wonderful weather.

Participating this year will be the Muldoon Museum open from 3:30-5:30 p.m. They will have cookies and wassail to enjoy while perusing all the exhibits in the museum. And while you are there take the opportunity to visit with Mrs. Clause and find out how things are going at the North Pole. The museum will also have some baked goods for sale, so you can take a few goodies home to take care of your sweet tooth.

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church will be open from 5-6 p.m. with Children’s crafts for the kids to enjoy. Be sure and stop by and enjoy a visit with Santa as he takes a break from the North Pole to visit with the little ones and maybe a few of the bigger ones, too.

Then at 6:30 p.m. the Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting their annual Christmas meal. This year’s meal will be fried fish, hush puppies, coleslaw, along with tea and water. Everyone is asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share. They also will be accepting freewill donations.

All locations will be accepting canned goods that will be donated to the Flatonia Area Food Pantry. This is a great way to give back during the holidays to those in need in the area, so grab a few canned goods and stop by any of the three locations throughout the afternoon and drop off some goodies for someone else.

Church News

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church celebrated a big Thanksgiving service with the youth (ROPE) serving the “Gobble till you Wobble” and on Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. they will be preparing the church for Christmas. This will be the day they will go all out decorating and getting in the holiday spirit. They are planning on putting up a nativity scene with a big star, so make

plans to come out and help set up a scene that is the real reason for the Christmas season. Anyone wishing to join in and maybe put up a few decorations is invited to come out and get involved in hanging some wreaths or decorate a tree or two. Just come on out and check out what’s going on at the SG2C.

The SG2C is doing some parking improvements. They have some base they are spreading to make the parking lot larger and much more accessible to cars without four-wheel drive. The recent rains have made parking a challenge around the church, but this should help keep the mud down and is a great improvement for the whole community.

Thanksgiving Service

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church youth (Rely On Prayer Everyday) hosted a community Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday night, Nov. 15. It was a well attended event with the church filled with community members. The church was beautifully decorated and the tables looked very nice. They had some wonderful music, one song was even sung by candlelight, and a delicious meal was enjoyed. It was prepared and served by the youth making it a very special meal where service to others was on display. It was a wonderful experience for the youth to reach out to the community and serve in this way.
