  • Vacation Bible School was held June 12-16, 2022 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine with the theme “Monumental-Celebrating God’s Greatness.” There were 46 students attending and 19 class leaders. In addition, 24 persons provided food and/or worked in the kitchen and 15 persons were leaders with games, openings, station leaders, and etc. Mia Williams and Jennifer Tinker served as co-directors.

Carmine VFD

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department reminds the public that a burn ban is in effect for Fayette County. With hot days and no rain, this means no burning.

Regular meeting is June 23, at 7 p.m.

The annual Firemen’s Feast and Fundraiser will be held July 17 at the Carmine Hall. They will serve a fried chicken dinner to-go, drive through only from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. or until sold out. Donations will be accepted as payment for the meal. Desserts will also be served for a donation. Tickets for a drawing are available.

RT-C School News

Round Top-Carmine ISD is currently accepting transfer applications for the 2022-2023 school year. Transfer packets may be printed from the rtcisd district website or picked up at either school campus. Transfer requests are reviewed by the Transfer Committee.

Deadline to register for basketball and volleyball camps is this Thursday, June 30. The forms are on the RTCISD website. After June 30, an additional $15 will be added to the registration fee, which is $50.

Administration offices are open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. They will be closed July 4-8.

Chamber Casino Night

Carmine Chamber of Commerce’s Casino Night will be held on Aug. 13 at the Carmine Hall, beginning at 6 p.m. It will be German-themed with an Alpine Band, chicken-fried steak meal, and drinks included.

Tables and individual tickets are available by calling (979) 451-1507. Reserve your spot now because there will be limited admissions.

MLLC News

Bible Study group meets Wednesday from 7–8:15 p.m.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship with Holy Communion observing the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost is at 10 a.m. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

Recycling Trailer

The Recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.

Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean #1 and #2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans.

The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.

Carmine Chamber

Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
