Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Annual Firemen’s Feast Slated July 20
The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department meets April 24 for drill night at 6 p.m.
Mark your calendars for the annual Firemen’s Feast, which will be held on Sunday, July 20. A fried chicken meal will be served to-go only and a drawing will be held.
RT-C School News
High school and Jr. High baseball teams continue to play, but the schedules have changed. Jr. high will host Snook on April 22 at 5 p.m. Contact the school for more updated schedules.
MLLC News
Senior Citizens meal pick-up and domino party is Wednesday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.
AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday School begins Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship with Holy Communion observing the second Sunday of Easter is at 10 a.m. The Rev. Bonnie Parker will serve as the minister.
Rebekah Group
The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met on April 10 with eight members present. They were Dianna Gerland, Sedalia Ullrich, Joys Baird, Susan Ray, Nancy Eilers, Diana Wunderlich, Joann Ullrich, and Leonita Sanders.
The Bible Study was led by Susan Ray with the theme, “Faithfulness in These Days”; Session 4: Mark 5:21-43, Jairus and the Faithful Woman.
President Susan Ray called the business meeting to order.
Diana Wunderlich stated that quilting will be onApril 14.
Each congregation’s Women of the ELCA group is asked to bring an 8.5-inch square with the church’s name on it to the Western Cluster Spring Gathering on May 10 in Bellville.
Sedalia Ullrich reported that the birthday party at Jefferson Place in La Grange will be on June 20 at 2:30 p.m.
Joys Baird told the group that Susan Bathe and Vickie Neutzler are taking home communion to shut-ins and nursing homes. An Easter Egg hunt will follow the church service on Resurrection Sunday. Joys also mentioned that the Bethlehem Lutheran Church service on May 4 will be at the Round Top Rifle Hall pavilion beginning at 10 a.m. MLLC members are invited since we will not have a service that day. There will also be a meal.
Packing for LutheranWorld Relief will be on April 24 at 9 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building. Salad Supper will be on June 4 and the Thankoffering service on Nov. 9.
Quilts for Lutheran World Relief will be packed in boxes on Thursday, April 24 at 9 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.
Joys Baird gave the Offering Meditation. Carol Carmean was recognized as the April birthday celebrant.
The meeting adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer and the table prayer was sung.
Hostesses were Diana Wunderlich and Nancy Eilers.
Recycle Trailer
The recycling trailers are at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m.
Clean milk cartons should be kept separate from the other No. 2 plastics. They also accept clean No. 1 plastic bottles and jugs. Note that numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics and plastic bags are not accepted.
Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
