Carmine Lions to Celebrate 50th Anniversary April 30
The Carmine Lions Club will celebrate their 50th Anniversary on Saturday, April 30 at the Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Annex, 201 Centennial St., Carmine, TX 78932. It begins at 6 p.m. A Barbeque Pork Steak meal will be catered by Gary. Guest Speaker will be Lion Mike Morgan. To reserve your $12.50 meal, call or text Marie at (979) 451-0141.
RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine High School Baseball team hosts Burton April 19 at 4:30 p.m. They play at Burton April 22 at 6:30 p.m.
The Area Track Meet is April 20 at Fayetteville High School.
Information is available online at www.rtcisd.com concerning transfer students. The letters and forms were to be available after April 11. If you are unable to access the online forms, call (979) 249-3200 and a hard copy will be provided.
New-student Enrollment Packet is currently available on online at www.rtcisd.com for print out.
The FFA Banquet was held April 7 at the La Bahia Hall.
Young Farmers
RT-C Young Farmers meeting will be April 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Round Top Hall. Holli Tietjen Hale will have a program on Texas animal health. BBQ sandwiches will be available.
Carmine VFD
Carmine Volunteer Fire Department regular meeting is April 28 at 7 p.m.
The department reminds homeowners to place their house numbers where they can be seen from the road, even at night.
The burn ban remains in effect for Fayette County.
MLLC News
Rebekah Group meets April 21 at 2 p.m.
Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship with Holy Communion observing the Second Sunday of Easter is at 10 a.m. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Praise and Celebrate youth will meet Sunday from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Men in Mission meet Monday at 6 p.m.
Recycle Trailer
The Recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Chamber Visitor Center
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10-2.
