Dianna Gerland led the Bible study with the theme “After Certainty: A Biblical Guide; Session 2: Community.”
The business meeting was called to order by President, Susan Ray and the Purpose and Mission Statements were recited.
The minutes of the previous meeting and treasurer’s report were approved as read.
It was reported that the WELCA TX-LA Gulf Coast Synod is still accepting donations from units, contrary to last month’s report. The group is asking for members to give ideas at the next meeting as to where to send the gift. Currently, one-half of the offering goes to the synod; one-fourth to the MLLC unit; and onefourth stays in the Rebekah Group treasury.
Diana Wunderlich reported that a box has been placed in the narthex for school supplies for Lutheran World Relief. Pencils are not needed this year.
Nursing home and assisted living parties have been scheduled by Sedalia Ullrich. They will be held at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Aug. 15; at Silversage Brenham Assisted Living on Aug. 26; and at Bec’s Blessing in Giddings on Nov. 5.
Joys Baird has spoken with someone as a possible speaker for the Thankoffering service. She also has an idea for the June, 2025 salad supper using the theme “Let Freedom Ring.” Discussion was held on the turkey and dressing meal.
Joann Ullrich gave the offering meditation. The offering collected totaled $120.
