    Camp Lone Star Picnic Set July 31

Camp Lone Star will have their annual picnic on Sunday July 31. The day includes music starting at 10:30 a.m., an outdoor worship service at 11 a.m., a barbeque meal at noon and a benefit auction from 1-3 p.m. The swimming pool will also be open from 1-2:30 p.m. for those wanting to enjoy the cool water. Each year Camp Lone Star serves over 11,000 individuals through their retreats, outdoor education and of course their summer camp ministry. This annual event is a great opportunity to show support for Camp Lone Star and help it to continue the ministry into the future.

Holy Cross Picnic

Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda will have their annual picnic on Sunday, Sept. 4 at the church picnic grounds. They are looking for quality items for their auction. Contact Chris Kovar at (318) 458-8558 or Brian Varner at (979) 966-3761 if you have auction items you would like to donate.

Faith Lutheran Oktoberfest

Faith Lutheran High School will hold their annual Oktoberfest on Saturday Oct. 22. New this year will be “The Battle of The Brew,” a home brew competition. They will have their traditional German meal, domino tournament, cornhole tournament, music, kid’s games and lots of fun. Mark your calendar and make plans to attend this fun event.

Holy Cross News

The sewing and quilting group at Holy Cross Lutheran Church meets each Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon, in the old parish hall of the church. Everyone is welcome to join them for a morning of sewing, cutting, laughter, fellowship and of course yummy goodies. You do not need to be a member of Holy Cross to join this fun group. The ladies still collect all cancelled postage stamps, these are trimmed from their envelopes and sold to collectors. These can be dropped off at the church office, or in the designated box in the hallway. They are also collecting light weight dark colored bath towels (20” x 40” and 52” x 27”), individually wrapped bars of soap and individually wrapped tooth brushes for World Relief Health Kits. These can be brought to the church office.

Holy Cross Services

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
