Camp Lone Star Hosting Family Fun Night

Family Fun Night at Camp Lone Star in La Grange will be held Tuesday Nov. 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at 2016 Camp Lone Star Road. This fun event will include dinner, Thanksgiving activities and a devotional. Family Fun Nights are held one Tuesday a month during the school year.

Veterans Reception 

The Ladies of Holy Cross will host a reception honoring our Military Veterans and their families on Sunday November 10, in the new narthex, immediately following the worship service. Light breakfast and refreshments will be served. All Veterans and their families, as well as widows of Veterans are invited to join us.

Fried Chicken Dinner 

The Couples Club at Holy Cross will host their Fried Chicken Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 24 at the picnic grounds in Warda. Drive-thru only from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. All plates are $15 each and include fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. Tickets are available from the church office or any couples club member. Advance tickets only by Monday, Nov. 18.

FLHS Pie Sale 

Faith Lutheran High School will have a Pie Sale along with the fried chicken dinner on Sunday, Nov. 24. All pies are a generous 9-inch size and are deep dish. Pre-orders only. Pecan pies are $30 each and pumpkin pies are $25 each. Place your pie order by calling FLHS at (979) 2422889 or the church office at (979) 242-3333. Deadline to order pies is Monday, Nov. 18.

Wednesday Night Bible Study The Wednesday Night Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda continues their weekly study at 6:30 p.m. in the family room. This is a study on 1 and 2 Kings. Game Day at Holy Cross 

The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Friday, Nov. 22 from noon-2 p.m. This is a date change from the usual schedule, just for this month. A light lunch is served, there is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.

Sympathies Extended 

Sympathy to Frances Schumann and the Pietsch family on the death of her sister Helen “Junell” Schulz, on Oct. 22. Her funeral was held at St. Paul in Serbin on Oct. 27.

Sympathy to the family and friends of Betty Peschke-Duke who was called to her heavenly home on Oct. 29. Her funeral was held at Holy Cross in Warda on Monday, Nov. 4.

Holy Cross Services 

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Thanksgiving Eve worship service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m.

The midweek morning Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda is Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

FLHS will be hosting game night for 7th and 8th grade students on Friday, Nov. 8 from 6-9 p.m. at the high school. They are hosting a game night for 5th and 6th grade students on Friday, Nov. 15 There will be lots of food, fun and fellowship.

The community is invited to join FLHS on Thursday, Nov. 21 beginning at 10:30 a.m. for the 8th Annual Thanksgiving Celebration. Rev. Thomas Obersat will be leading worship. There will be a pot-luck Thanksgiving feast lunch, immediately following chapel.
