Callene Zapalac Honored by HEB For Her Excellence in Education

Callene Zapalac, Schulenburg High School Principal, has been notified that she was named a Semifinalist in the statewide HEB Excellence in Education Contest. She received a $500 HEB gift card as part of the recognition. It is “a small token of our gratitude for all that you do each and every day to inspire and enlighten young minds. You are helping to shape the future of Texas and we thank you for your passion and your dedication, You are an inspiration to us all,” her award letter states. From more than 1,900 applications from all over Texas, just 150 teachers and 50 principals were selected as Semi-Finalists
