The Arbors happy hour continues each evening from 3-6 p.m. with wine and snacks. Grab some refreshments and do a little shopping. You can catch Chris Helms and Tyler Wayne Griffith performing this weekend.

Big Red Barn VIP hours are 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and general admission begins at 1 p.m. Shopping closes at the end of the day on April 1.

Friday, March 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. come out to Junk Gypsy Company for a Boot Scootin’ night with Kendra Scott. This free event starts at 6 p.m. and includes country and western dance lessons, food, cocktails “cowgirl style” roping, hat bar customization, chain stitching and more.

The Black Cat Choir will be at The Stone Cellar Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 at 7 p.m. both evenings.

Zapp Hall has live music planned throughout the weekend featuring Susan Hickman, Mandi Powell, Payton Howie and Zack Walther.

This weekend at Round Top Brewing you can catch Frank Martin Gilligan, Tyler Wayne Griffith & Earl, Andrea Young and Joey McGee all at Round Top Brewing.

Over at The Dugout in Warrenton, there will be live performances Saturday night by Trent Willmon and Lindsey Cardinale with late night shopping. $5 cover and the grill is open until closing time. Drink specials from 6-10 p.m.

Saturday, April 1 is the 2nd annual “bring your dog to the winery” day at Busted Oaks Cellars. Gifts for all dogs will be handed out. Darrel Appelt will be performing from 3-6 p.m. Les Cousins perform Sunday from 2-5 p.m.

Busted Oaks will host a Seder Dinner in the Vineyard April 2 from 4-7 p.m. It’s free but please bring a dish to share. Rebecca Valesquez will lead the dinner and walk attendees through the evening. The Seder is a ritual involving a retelling of the story of the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt, taken from the Book of Exodus (Shemot) in the Jewish Torah. The Seder itself is based on the Biblical verse commanding Jews to retell the story of the Exodus from Egypt: “You shall tell your child on that day, saying, ‘It is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’” Seating is limited. A Celebration of Life for Round Top business owner, Lee Ellis, will be heldThursday, April 6 from 4:30-7 p.m. at Ellis Motel in Henkel Circle with a tribute beginning at 5:30 p.m. Visit roundtopchamber.com to view his amazing life story.

One Square Mile Music Fest

Round Top Lions Club

The Round Top Lions Club food drive benefitting the AMEN pantry in La Grange is going on now through April 14. Drop off non-perishable foods at the Round Top Family Library, Round Top Coffee Shop, The Round Top State Bank lobby, or Winedale.

Round Top Rifle Hall

The next Round Top Rifle Hall Monday Night Hamburger Social it set for April 10. The social takes place the second and third Mondays of each month. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6-8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.

Town of Round Top

The town of Round Top is currently looking for volunteers to work the polling place from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. from April 24-28, and May 1-2.

Public Hearing

The Round Top Town Council will hold a public hearing for the final report on proposed changes to the Round Top zoning ordinance and boundary map on Wednesday, April 5 at 6 p.m. at Round Top Town Hall. The final report is available for review at the Town Office located at 202 N. Live Oak Street and online at www.rttx.us. Round Top-Carmine ISD If your children will be attending Pre-K or Kindergarten at Round Top-Carmine for the 2023-2024 school year, please plan to attend this event scheduled for April 4 from 5-5:30 p.m. at the Elementary School.

Students are out for a holiday Friday, April 7 and Monday, April 10, with an early release on April 14.

Round Top-Carmine UIL Academic winners were as follows: calculator applications- Kimberly Rohde, 2nd place and Mallory Krause, 4th place; Faith Nance placed first in copy editing; editorial writing-Lucy Soto, 1st place and Maggie Salinas 4th place; headline writing -Rylee Handy, 2nd place, Sophia Nance, 3rd place; Kinsley Bage placed fourth in mathematics; news writing-Charlee Wessels, 1st place and Kaysie Ward, 3rd place; social studies-Kannyn Goehring, 4th place and Jacob Polasek, 5th place; spelling-Sophia Nance, 1st place and Maddie Lucas, 2nd place. Kinsley Bage placed second in number sense, Somerlin Coil placed first in persuasive speaking, Jenna Hardaway placed sixth in ready writing, and Kendra Pesch placed third in science.

The regional competition will be held at Blinn College on April 21.

Round Top Family Library The Round Top Family Library is open Monday from 1:30-5:30 p.m., Tuesday– Thursday from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Yoga is Mondays at 5 p.m., Art After School is Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m., Chess Club is Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. and Kids Garden is Thursdays at 4 p.m.

Weekly preschool story time for 3 and 4-year-old children takes places Wednesdays from 10:15-11 a.m. Preschoolers will hear an age-appropriate book and participate in activities. The parent or guardian must be present.

Family game night is held every second Saturday of the month from 2-5 p.m.. Come to the Historic Rummel Haus for board games and lots of fun. Parent or guardian must be present. A light snack and water will be served.

Historical Society

The RTAHS museum has free admission every second Saturday of the month from 1-4 p.m.

Festival Hill

Round Top Festival Hill’s August to April music series concludes with the Adkins/ Newman Duo on Saturday, April 22 at 3 p.m. in the Festival Concert Hall. Friday, April 28-Sunday, April 30 will be Poetry at Round Top. This event features three days of poetry panels, workshops, and featured readings by some of the nation’s most highly acclaimed poets.

Hermann Sons

The next meeting will be April 27. Supper will be served. Members may bring a side dish or dessert.

Harmonie Hall

Shelby’s famous fried chicken lunch is set for Friday, March 31 at Harmonie Hall. St. Paul Lutheran Church WELCA will have a bake sale set up at the hall as well.

Church News

St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly service at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar. There is no March Mass.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Adult Bible Study classes have been cancelled for March andApril and will resume in May.

If you are interested in purchasing an Easter Lily that will be placed on the altar on Easter Sunday, please place your order no later than April 2. The cost is $16.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee and Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. Game Day is held the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Bring a snack, board game, dominoes, etc. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. Noisy Offering is the third Sunday of each month.

The Wednesday Lenten services will alternate between St. Paul in Shelby and BLC. A meal is served at 6 p.m. and the service begins at 7 p.m. The March 22 service will be held at BLC.

St. Cecilia’s Round Top Episcopal Church holds services with Father Bill Miller Sundays at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. in the historic Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square.

Round Top Christian Fellowship Church holds service at 10 a.m.

The City of Refuge Church on 237 in Round Top holds bible study on Sunday at 10 a.m. followed by church service at 11 a.m.
