Busted Oak Cellars Hosting Open Mic Night Friday

Open Mic Night at Busted Oak Cellars is Friday, Jan. 27 from 6-9 p.m. A PA system and microphone will be provided. All are welcome. Saturday, Mike Gallow plays from 3-6 p.m., and Sunday enjoy Danielle Reich from 2-5 p.m. Bingo Night is Thursday, Feb. 2 from 6-8 p.m. $5 will get you a bingo card to play until prizes run out. Pizza will be sold by the slice.

San Orr’s Texas Gold Trio will play at The Stone Cellar Friday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. Manzy Lowry plays Sunday at 4 p.m. The Randy Brown Show is scheduled to play at the Round Top Dance Hall Saturday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. February 18 there will be a Mardi Gras Gumbo Cook-Off and Car Show beginning at 12 p.m. Tickets for both of these events are available at stonecellarwines. com.
Round Top Rifle Hall
The Round Top Rifle Hall Monday Night Hamburger Social has wrapped up for this month but will occur Feb. 6, 13 and 20. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6-8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.
Mollie B and Squeezebox will make their annual appearance Friday, Feb. 10. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., music starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door, but don’t wait until they are sold out. Mollie B is the host of the Mollie B Polka Party, a member of MN Music Hall of Fame, IPA Hall of Fame, IPA Female Vocalist of the Year in 2017 and 2018. She will be accompanied by her husband, Ted Lange, who is a two-time Grammy Nominee, a member of the IPA Hall of Fame, IPA Male Vocalist of the year in 2019 and 2020.
An evening meal of roast beef, grilled chicken, sides and dessert will be available for $15, but meal tickets must be reserved! Call (979) 9667375 or (979) 249-7335 to reserve a meal. The bar will be open and snacks will be available for purchase.

Round Top-Carmine ISD
The RT-C Education Foundation will have the “Small School Big Hearts Celebration” at the Round Top Rifle Hall on Saturday, Feb. 4. Dinner will be served from 5-6 p.m., with dine-in and drivethru available. Table Sponsorships at 4 levels are available, as well as single meal tickets. The Round Top Rifle Association will cater a dinner of 1/2 chicken, sausage, and sides for the event. Tickets are available online at rtceducationfoundation. org/event-tickets or at local schools or banks. Donations of any kind are needed to help make this year’s goal, to fund the Arts, Technology, and Innovative Teacher Grants for next year.
A silent auction will go live on Sunday, Jan. 29, ending at the Event. At the Celebration, a Live Auction will take place. Following the Auction, a Family Dance Party will close the evening.
Students are out Monday, Jan. 30 for a professional development day, and have an early release Friday, Feb. 17, followed by a holiday Monday, Feb. 20.
If you are interested in a position on the RT-C school board, you have until Feb. 17 to submit your filing.
Round Top Family Library
The Round Top Family Library is open Monday from 1:30-5:30 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Closed on Sundays.
Yoga is Mondays at 5 p.m., Art After School is Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m., Chess Club is Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m., and Kids Garden is Thursdays at 4 p.m.

Historical Society

Festival Hill
The annual Valentine’s Concert/Library Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 11. This year it will be The Art of the American Song: A Tribute to Dick Smith. The 2 p.m. concert benefits the Festival Institute’s Faith P. and Charles L. Bybee Library and Study Center.
Lyle Lovett and his Acoustic Group will be performing at Festival Hill Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7:30. General seating is $150, or reserved seating is available for $250.

St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly service at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar. The next Mass will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 8 a.m.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday School is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m.
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds Worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee, and Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. Game Day is held the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Bring a snack, board game, dominoes, etc. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. Noisy offering is the third Sunday of each month.
St. Cecilia’s Round Top Episcopal Church holds services with Father Bill Miller Sundays at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. in the historic Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square. The addition of the early service is new for this year.
Round Top Christian Fellowship Church holds service at 10 a.m.
The City of Refuge Church on 237 in Round Top holds bible study on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. followed by church service at 11 a.m.
