Boehnke Family Celebrates Christmas in Muldoon
MULDOON News
Just before Christmas the Devon Boehnke family gathered at Devon’s place to celebrate Christmas. Dana and Darrell Kulak rounded up and coordinated the family activities around the Boehnke Ranch which included a hay ride, and multiple games, along with the exchange of gifts.
Over 35 family members came in from all over to enjoy a festive time. They enjoyed lots of food and tons of just catching up with what everyone was doing with their lives. It was a great time laughing and just enjoying the country.
Rain
Christmas Eve in Muldoon saw the blessing of rain in the area. Depending on exactly where in the Muldoon area amounts varied from around two inches to over six inches of rain. All the deluge fell in about an hour and a half. Along with the rain there was strong winds and some hail. Some water gaps were tested that had not seen this type of rain in a while.
The area has been in need of this rain and many spots are now rather muddy and the stock tanks are now full in most places.
Out and About
Jennifer and Clay Rightmer hosted Jennifer’s side of the family for the Howard Christmas at their home before Christmas. Will and Marilyn Howard came in from Horseshoe Bay; Wade and Karen Howard along with daughters Grace and Georgia from Austin; and Julie Zavala of Georgetown all came in. While here, they went to cel-church in Schulenburg to celebrate Clay’s parents, Billie and Harold Rightmer’s 73rd wedding anniversary.
Neighborhood Watch
Be sure, especially during the holiday season to keep an eye out for yours and your neighbors’ place. With the recent uptick in criminal activity, we all need to pull together to keep the Muldoon area safe.
If you see something that does not look right, call that neighbor. This is not the big city and it is important to watch out for each other. There have been lots of trespassing and poaching going on in the area and it is up to us to keep it safe. If things are ok, then it should not be a big thing to just check in with that neighbor whose gate is open or checking that they gave permission for someone to hunt on their property. Or even to make sure that it is company visiting and not someone there to steal something. Get to know your neighbors and watch out for one another.
