Boehnke Brothers Celebrate Birthdays
The end of February is a very festive time of year when the Boehnke brothers, Devon and Harold, celebrate their birthdays. Devon was the first with a birthday and was surprised with dinner out in Smithville at La Cabana where he was met by a few friends and his brother Harold for a good meal and loads of talking and laughing along with a cake. He was sung “Happy Birthday” twice just to be sure he got the message to have a good 84th birthday.
Then on Saturday little brother Harold’s family helped him celebrate his 79th with a grilled hamburger lunch at daughter and son in law, Kim and Tony Miori’s place, here in Muldoon. His niece, Dana Kulak, decorated cupcakes for the party. Harold’s great grandson, Kasen Miori, had a great time flying his kite and everyone enjoyed playing board games at the outdoor party.
Out and About
Pam Sheffield recently entertained her friends from Houston for the weekend. Darlyn, Debbie, Jenni and Vicki showed up on Friday afternoon for a fun weekend together. The girls had fun talking and laughing until late in the evening. On Saturday morning, they ventured to Flatonia to visit Darlin’s Dinner. Pam’s friend, Darlyn, had wanted to visit the place since they had the “same” name. They enjoyed a great breakfast and shopping while they were there. After breakfast, they decided to venture into La Grange and go to the Busy Bee. After shopping there, they headed back to Pam’s house for a late lunch and more talking and laughing. This group of friends never runs out of conversation. After Sunday morning breakfast, the girls headed back to Houston and planned the next time for a get together.
Debra Schwartzenburg traveled to Colorado to visit her grandchildren, Addie and Oliver, along with their parents, Michelle and Tommy Mitchell. Debra spent a few days in Fort Collins, Colorado, where she got to see the clinic where her daughter Michelle is practicing optometry and got to play a lot with Addie and Ollie. The weather warmed up on Sunday, so they went to Michelle and Tommy’s church, Mill Creek Church in Fort Collins. Afterwards, they even got to enjoy riding bikes before the cold weather and snow moved back in. All of this made for an exciting visit.
Lane Rightmer came home to see her parents Clay and Jennifer Rightmer over the weekend. Lane now lives in Waco where she is a registered dietitian. Lane got to enjoy some peace and quiet of the country and catch up with family and friends.
Weather
Muldoon has been seeing some strong winds and cooler temperatures. The stronger winds are drying out the vegetation that has been growing with the milder weather. This also means that the conditions are perfect for wildfires, like the ones in the Panhandle, so please do not be burning anything until we receive some rain.
Upcoming Events
Easter is fast approaching, and the Stray Gathering Cowboy Church would like to invite everyone one out to join them for a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. This is the perfect chance to celebrate Easter and the risen Christ and to check out the Stray Gathering Cowboy Church. Mark your calendars and get ready to set your alarm clocks. Breakfast will be served afterwards under the pavilion to all who are willing to rise and shine for Easter sunrise. The regular worship service will begin at 10 a.m., followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for all ages. Make plans now to join SG2C for a wonderful day on Easter Sunday, March 31.
