Bluebonnet Trails Community Services Honors Retiring Board Member Robert Heinrich
On Aug. 31, Bluebonnet Trails Community Services honors the retirement of Robert L. Heinrich from the Board of Trustees. As a founding Board Member of Bluebonnet Trails Community Services in 1997, Heinrich served as the Fayette County representative and Chair of the Bluebonnet Trails Community Services Board of Trustees through 2019, subsequently serving as the Board Vice Chair until 2021. Heinrich generously gave his time bringing to life Bluebonnet’s vision of healthy and fulfilled lives, faithfully advocating for Fayette County residents and Texans on matters related to behavioral, developmental, and medical care.
Through the course of his impressive service-oriented career, Heinrich has enriched his Fayette County community, Texas and his country. Heinrich is a retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, serving in the military for 34 years. He graduated from the United States Air Force Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) Academy and Senior NCO Academy and holds two Associate degrees in Munitions Technology and Aircraft Maintenance from the Community College of the Air Force. He is an officer in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Chapter 5623, American Legion Post 143, and Chapter 870 Vietnam Veterans of America. Heinrich has also served on the Board of Directors of the Fayette County Commission for Intellectual Disabilities since 1978.
With Heinrich’s support and leadership, Bluebonnet Trails Community Services has expanded to 28 locations and now serves over 37,000 Central Texans each year. Under his leadership on the Board, the center was designated one of the first Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) in Texas and has received accreditation through both the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
