The correct date for the Blood Drive is Sunday, Jan. 28. from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. It will be held in the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. You may make an appointment by contacting Khardin@giveblood.org or by logging in to your established digital donor account.

Jan. 15 is a holiday for Martin Luther King Day.
Round Top-Carmine girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball teams host Buckholts on Jan. 16 at 5 p.m. The teams play at Calvert on Jan. 19 at 5 p.m.
Jr. High girls’ and boys’ teams play at Calvert on Jan. 18.
The Texas A & M School of Nursing comes to the RT-C High School on Wednesdays for primary care, acute and chronic conditions, vaccinations and other services for the members of the community.

Carmine Cemetery Association The Carmine Cemetery Association will conduct its annual meeting on Sunday, Jan. 28 at the Mission and Ministry Building of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. It will be held following the morning worship service, around 11 a.m. or a little later. Members are urged to attend.

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department regular meeting will be held Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.
If you use space heaters, make sure to keep them away from combustible items.
Central Texas Food Bank The Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church on Jan. 20 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Food distribution will be walk-up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables as the clients walk through the line. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy reusable bags, boxes, or plastic tubs. Wagons will be furnished. For more information, call (979) 249-6947.
Baby Care Kits
Baby Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief will be collected by the Women of the ELCA of Martin Luther Lutheran Church through January.
Needed are lightweight cotton T-shirts; long or short sleeved gowns or sleepers without feet; receiving blankets; flat cloth diapers; sweaters, sweatshirts, or jackets with hood (or include a baby cap); socks; bath-size bars of gentle soap; diaper pins or large safety pins; and hand towels (dark color recommended). Sizes are up to 24-months.
Fried Chicken Fundraiser
The Carmine Hall is sponsoring a fried chicken fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 18 with carry out only from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Desserts will be available for a donation supporting the scholarship fund.

Confirmation class meets on Wednesday from 4:15 to 6:45 p.m.
Saturday worship with Holy Communion, observing the Third Sunday after Epiphany, is at 6 p.m.
Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 10 a.m. Church Council will be installed.

Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.

The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from 1-4 p.m.
There is only an unmanned trailer in Ledbetter behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Accepted are clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic (please separate them and take note that No. 5 plastics are not accepted), dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload in Carmine.
