Bingo for Seniors (age 60 and older, plus guests) will be this Sunday, April 14 at the Ledbetter Community Center from 2-4 p.m. Cost is $5 per card, which covers 10 plus games and prizes. Chips, snacks and drinks are available for a freewill donation.

Round Top-Carmine High School baseball team hosts Richards April 9 at 4:30 p.m. The team plays at Richards on April 12 at 6:30 p.m.

High School regional golf tournament is April 15 at Manor beginning at 8 a.m.

The Easter weekend was kicked off with some fun and service. Students and teachers participated in a Peeps disguise challenge and decorated cards for nursing home residents. There was a boys vs. girls trivia contest. FCCLA hosted an Easter egg hunt at the elementary school.

Mrs. Patin’s Chemistry students learned about limited and excess reactant by experimenting with baking soda and vinegar to create bottle rockets. Nursing Mobile Clinic

The Texas A&M School of Nursing Mobile Clinic is a specially designed vehicle tailored to deliver primary care services to students, faculty, staff, and community members while parked at school district sites in the Brazos Valley area. Community sites include Brenham, Jewett, Burton, Round Top-Carmine, Iola, and Hearne schools.

The mobile clinic is in Carmine at the RT-C High School on Wednesdays. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (979) 436-0587.

Carmine VFD 

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Drill Night is April 11 at 7 p.m.

MLLC News 

Confirmation Class meets Wednesday from 4:15 to 6:45 p.m.

Rebekah Group meeting is Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion observing the Third Sunday of Easter is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Sunday worship with Holy communion is a 10 a.m. The Praise Team leads songs and the Noisy Offering will be collected. The Noisy Offering this year is designated for the Cajun Navy, a group of people who help victims of disaster.

The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m.

Visitors’ Center 

The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Meals on Wheels 

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.

Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.

Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.

To sign up, come by on any Wednesday morning to fill out the paperwork. For more information, contact Marilyn Wagner at (979) 277-4134.

Recycling Trailer 

The recycling trailer is in Carmine on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.

Accepted are clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic bottles and jugs. Please separate them. Take note that Numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics are not accepted. They do not take plastic bags.

Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.

The hours in Warrenton at 600 Huenefeld Ln., Round Top are 8-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and also 8 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturdays.

Hours in La Grange at 210 Svoboda Ln. are Tuesdays 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; and Saturdays 7 a.m.-1 p.m.

The trailer is also in Fayetteville on Tuesdays from 1-5:30 p.m. Trash bags are accepted at Fayetteville for a cost.
