Bingo For Seniors Sunday in Carmine

Bingo for seniors (age 60 and older plus guests) will be held this Sunday, March 9 from 2-4 p.m. at the Ledbetter Community Center. A card for $5 covers all games with prizes awarded for each game.

Chips, snacks, and drinks will be available for a donation. This is a non-profit community event for entertainment. Money collected will be used for purchase of prizes and other expenses.

RT-C School News 

Round Top-Carmine high school baseball team plays at Granger at 4:30 p.m. on March 7. The team hosts Somerville for the first district match on March 10 with the first game at 2 p.m. Jr. High plays after varsity. Jr. High baseball hosts Brazos Christian on March 4 at 4 p.m.

Jr. High athletes competed in the Koppers Relays track meet at Somerville on March 3.

High School runners will take part in the Koppers Relays at Somerville on March 6.

Several activities were held on Feb. 14, for the end of the fourth six-weeks grading period at the high school campus. A Generationalism presentation was given by Craig Moreau.

A representative from the Fayette County Sheriff’s office spoke on “Using Social Media and Texting Responsibly.”

Students painted rocks for Carrie the Caterpillar at Care Inn in La Grange.

Cards were decorated with “Light Up” and “Valentine’s Day” themes in Mrs. Rohan’s eighth-grade science class.

SAT and TSIA2 Test-day is March 6.

Progress reports will be posted on March 7.

Spring Break will be March 10-14.

Carmine VFD 

The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department drill night is March 13 at 6 p.m. at the fire station.

MLLC News

Ash Wednesday service with Holy Communion is Wednesday at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Ken Weiss as guest pastor.

AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Sunday Worship with Holy Communion, observing the First Sunday in Lent, is at 10 a.m. The Rev. Ken Weiss is the guest pastor. The Noisy Offering will be received for Lutherhill Ministries.

Quilting for Lutheran World Relief is Monday at 9 a.m.

Meals on Wheels 

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.

Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.

Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.
