Bingo Coming to Carmine Friday

Bingo is coming to the Carmine Hall. The first night will be Friday, Oct. 25 beginning at 5 p.m. at 300 N. Hauptstrasse. Chopped barbecue sandwiches by South-Fork BBQ with chips and pickle will be available for $12. Drinks will be sold by the hall. There will be twelve regular games and one coverall game.
RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine Jr. High, JV, and varsity volleyball teams host Prairie Lea on Oct. 22 at 4 p.m. It will be Dig-Pink night. Breast Cancer Awareness will be recognized before the varsity game begins. There will be a district pep rally that day.
There is a link on the rtcisd. net website to donate online to the Side-Out Foundation. Also, all profits from Dig Pink shirts, Cookies for a Cure, and Caps for the Day are being donated. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The RT-C FFA livestock judging teams have been competing at contests recently.
Senior teams were in the top 30 in Fort Bend County and Waller County. Members were Carter Marburger, Madison Markwardt, Bree Dooley, Reagan Williams, Makayla Smith, Avery Lamson, Cash Robertson, and Kamrie Stewart.
Jr. High team placed seventh in Fort Bend County. Those participants were Luke Behnke, Lylah Robertson, Summer Dooley, and Morgan Williams.
Another Jr. High team placed ninth at Waller County. This team consisted of Luke Behnke, Lylah Robertson, Caydan Nelius, and Morgan Williams.
Red Ribbon week is Oct. 25-31.
Dumpsters Available
The city of Carmine will have dumpsters at City Hall on Nov. 15 and 16. On Saturday, the hours are 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and on Sunday, 8 a.m. noon.
You must be a resident of Carmine with proof of residency and must be able to load and unload it yourself.
Cost for a truck load is $25 and for a trailer load is $50.
Prohibited items include tires, household hazardous waste (such as paint, oil, chemicals, and pesticides), refrigerators, E-waste (such as computers, monitors, and household electronic items with internal components like mercury and other heavy metals). Condolences
Sympathy is extended to the family of Gladys Roemer, who passed away on Oct. 4. Her funeral service was held on Oct. 9 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine with burial at the Carmine Cemetery.
MLLC Rebekah Group The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met on October 10 at 2 p.m. The nine members present were Susan Ray, Sharon Rhome, Joann Ullrich, Jocie Braun, Sedalia Ullrich, Diana Wunderlich, Dianna Gerland, Joys Baird, and Nancy Eilers.
The Bible study theme was “Receiving Grace; A study of Ephesians, Session 2: God’s power works in us. It was a group study.
The business meeting was called to order by President, Susan Ray.
Wunderlich reported for Mission Action that quilting will be on Oct. 14. One hundred forty-one pounds of food was taken to the AMEN food pantry for the August ingathering. Also, $854 was sent in September to AMEN.
S. Ullrich reported for Mission Community that the party at Bec’s Blessing in Giddings will be on Nov. 5 at 2:30 p.m. Cake, ice cream, and Cheetos will be served.
Baird reported for Mission Growth about the Thankoffering meal and service on Nov. 10. Sandtown Catering will serve turkey and dressing plus ham for the meal. Three hundred plates have been ordered and tickets will be available after Oct. 20 for $15. Pick-up will be drive-through from the Mission and Ministry Building. Baird will order the altar flowers and contact servers for the service. Denna Hardin will be the guest speaker. Wunderlich will arrange the decorations. Ladies are asked to bring cookies in zip-loc bags for the dessert. We will need 300 bags. A sign-up sheet will be in the narthex and also to help in the serving line.
Lutheran World Relief quilts and kits will be packed on October 17 at 9 a.m. They will be taken to Zionsville on Nov. 2 by Jason Schroeder and Tim Sanders.
The WELCA Fall Gathering was held at Warrenton on Sept. 28. Vickie Neutzler, Joys Baird, Sedalia Ullrich, JoLynn Schoenberg, and Leonita Sanders attended from MLLC. The Rev. Jen Kinsvatter presented the program on living hope and of the Hope Academy in Guatemala, which she recently visited and took supplies. St. John’s Lutheran in Bellville will host the Spring Gathering on April 5, 2025.
The group decided to donate Christmas contributions to AMEN food pantry in La Grange, Fayette County Deputy Santa program, Hospice Brazos Valley, Rainbow Room, and Lutherhill. It was also decided to give $500 to Vacation Bible School in 2025.
As a WELCA group item, it was approved to give a donation to Hope Gathering for their annual matching funds program with Brazos Valley Giving. It is used for Hope boxes that are given to widows after the loss of their husbands. Since the deadline is Oct. 15, it was brought up at the Rebekah meeting, with all attendees being members of WELCA.
The group sang Happy Birthday to Eilers.
Eilers gave the offering meditation.
Hostesses were S. Ullrich and Baird.
The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer and the table prayer was sung.
Recycle Trailer
The recycling trailer is in Carmine on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.
