Bastrop and Fayette County Ag Conference Set Nov. 3

The Bastrop/Fayette County Ag Conference will be held Friday, Nov. 3 at the Fayette County Fairgrounds, 400 W. Fair Grounds, La Grange. A total of 5 pesticide applicator CEU credits have been approved from the Texas Department of Agriculture for this program (3 General, 1 Laws & Regulations, and 1 IPM Drift).

A pre-registration fee of $40 must be received at the Extension office in Fayette County at 255 Svoboda Lane, Rm 134 in La Grange or Bastrop County Extension office at 901 Pecan Street, Bastrop Texas by Oct. 31. Late registration at the door will be $50 per person. Acceptable payments are checks made payable to the Fayette Beef Committee, exact cash amount or credit card (service fee will apply).

The conference begins with registration from 8 -8:30 a.m. Topics of discussion will include Feral Hogs – Lee Williamson, Texas Parks and Wildlife; Sandbur Management and Drought Recovery Dr. Josh McGinty, Texas A&M AgriLife; Livestock External Parasite Management Dr. Karl Harborth, Texas A&M AgriLife; Farm Service Agency Updates Levi Garlick, Farm Service Agency; Laws & Regulations Dr. Mark Matocha, Texas A&M AgriLife; Rodent Management on the Farm Janet Hurley, Texas A&M AgriLife, Legislative News Texas Farm Bureau.
