ArtWalk Brings Lots of Folks to Fayetteville

City Council
The next City Council meeting will be held on Monday, May 15. City Councilman Cade Burks and Mayor Mike Stroup will be sworn in for their new terms.
Day of Prayer
A large crowd gathered for the National Day of Prayer held at City Hall on May 4.
FFA Officers
New Fayetteville ISD FFA Officers are: President-Cooper Mau; Vice President-Cash Smith; Secretary-Harper Mau; Treasurer-Kayme Schley; Reporter-Saige Gasaway; Sentinel-Indie Sikes; Student Advisor-Rylee Jeffcoat.
Picking Park
Bring mom to hear a great group of bluegrass enthusiasts pickin’ again this Saturday. All levels of pickers are welcome to continue the tradition of live, acoustic bluegrass jamming in the town square. Lions Club
A few new officers have been elected to head up all the goings on at the Fayetteville Lions Club. The include: President, Linda Hudson; First VP, Martha Phillip; Second VP, Jeanne Schilling; Third VP, Jan Orsak Everson; Secretary, Paula Wehrman; Treasurer, Carolyn McCrory; Membership, Kevin White; Tail Twister, Don Mendel. Installation will be held the first or third Thursday in June.
Altar Society
The St. John Altar Society is busy getting ready for their annual fundraiser this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Parish Hall. There will be hot dogs, sandwiches, a big bake sale just in time for Mother’s Day, a country store and a raffle featuring 28 prizes with a pieced quilt as the first prize. The quilt is on display at the Fayetteville Bank where tickets can be purchased. Tickets can also be purchased in the church office or from any member of the society.

Don’t miss all the food, music, auction and raffle at the Fayetteville/Ellinger Knights of Columbus Shrimp Boil being held at the St. John’s Pavilion on Friday, May 19. Complimentary keg beer is served up from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Other beer will be sold throughout the night and entertainment will be provided by Mike Stroup, Annie Rost and friends.
